Hey guys and girls,

Do you reckon we should have finals at Skilled Stadium? I know people think this is a stupid idea, but really, if you earn the right for a home final, I reckon you should get it. At full capacity, Skilled Stadium will fit 28,000, only about 7,000 less than the Gabba. Let's face it, the competetion isn't even and probably never will be, but why play a (eg. A Geelong vs Fremantle) final at the MCG when you can play it at Skilled Stadium?

Maybe if we had lights. I know it shouldn't really make a difference, but it just gives a bit more flexibility with the AFL loving their night finals. It still might just be too small, if we could fit around 32000 then we'd have to be a chance, but then again we've only ever hosted 1 final (i think) in the history of the club, and that was about 100 years ago. Maybe the AFL just doesn't want Geelong to host finals

Not fussed about the finals but I would like to see the grounds capacity increased to about 35,000.

Pretty much every match this season was a sell out despite the oppononents largely being poor drawing interstate teams. I think the club is capable of pulling in around 27,000 Geelong supporters, regardless of who we play. Opposition supporters should be numerous enough, especially amongst the Melbourne clubs, to make up the difference.

The club had an option of either expanding the capacity to about 5-6,000 more or to maintain the capacity and make it better. They chose the latter and rightly so. Quality over quantity.

We never really sell our games out anyway. St Kilda was probably the biggest and we still had a few standing room lefy anyway.
