Unfortunately given the importance of the game for that round and the following, it looms very likely to achieve maximum viewing audience.

I think Friday night is most likely. Given that is the best prime time for footy viewing.

Have to beat suns to make it now, which is no given. Or we possibly finish in 8th and face the eagles. Only way we win a final is if we face at kilda imo. Then we get flogged and end up with a draft pick out of the top 10. Wouldve been better to finish where hawthorn are

Only just caught up on this thread again, and did a ladder predictor. First and foremost, we have to make sure we beat GCS next Monday. If we don't beat them, we don't deserve to make finals anyway.

Once (if) we get through them, obviously it's easier to just beat Port Adelaide (surely that game is on Saturday night at the earliest!)... but we'll probably need WCE to beat the Saints, etc.

I think we just need to play JDG, Treloar etc against the Suns.

If beat the Suns, we will have 38 points. We won’t beat Port

But if the Dogs, Giants, Demons all win two of their remaining games... which is a likely scenario... we will finish 9th.

We will then get a top 10 draft pick... a pick in before someone else bids on Reef.

I’m hoping that happens. Put the cue in the rack... make sure De Goey, Howe, Treloar, Sier are all fit rather than rushing them back... and focus on 2021

Its almost certain we will miss finals if we dont beat both the Suns and the Power. Dogs and Giants both have a good run home and should win two games. Stkilda have a tougher run but being ahead of us only need to lock way one win to stay safe.

The Dogs play Hawthorn and Fremantle and will win them both, moving past us unless we win both games
The Giants play Adelaide Melbourne and StKilda and only need to win two of them to pass us unless we win both games
StKilda play West Coast and the Giants and we'd need them to lose both games unless we we win both games

Tom Morris has reported on Fox Footy last night, Jordan De Goey huge chance to return for Gold Coast and Jeremy Howe and Adam Treloar most likely to return against Port Adelaide. If this is true I’d be confident we could beat both Gold Coast and Port Adelaide.

Like our draw hasn’t been bs enough, they schedule us to play Gold Coast as the last match on Monday after we have bye, Why? Why not one of the first games?.... now talking about having us the fri game? fmd

I’ve been on board with missing finals ever since the Melbourne game. Finishing 9th or 11th is not a big difference in draft position. The top 5 players will be gone by then anyhow

Stating the obvious but having watched the top teams at work, realistically we are way off the Mark. Be it the draw, injuries, out of form players and a system not suited to the squad and easily picked apart, it will take an almighty effort to even make the finals let alone win one.
Been a frustrating year again, we have so much potential.

Can't believe there are people here who would rather finish 9th or 10th and get a top ten pick than extend our season for another 2, 3, 4 or 5 weeks. All for a pick 1 or 2 higher

I’m starting to think our game against Port Adelaide will be the Sunday 3:30pm.

It’ll most likely be a ‘win and in’ game for us provided we beat Gold Coast.

Ch 7 would love it one of the last games of the season the last free to air before finals and it’s a virtual elimination final for us.

The run home is an interesting one:

Collingwood, should beat Gold Coast and with a number of players coming in, plus Port Adelaide likely on top of the ladder, may rest some of their senior players. I give us a chance at winning both but realistically at least one.

ST Kilda, Playing GWS and West Coast, likely to not win either just as much as they are to win, genuine 50/50 split here. Realistically they win one game

GWS, extra game in hand is going to be... handy. Adelaide Melbourne and St Kilda. They should win all three but could drop one to Melboune or St Kilda. They win at least two

Western Bulldogs, playing Fremantle and Hawthorn, realistically should beat both, however I think (hope?) they drop one.

Melbourne, Bit of a dark horse here, things go their way and they can make finals. They would need to beat GWS in addition to beating Essendon and Fremantle. Unlikley they win all three, even with a win over GWS they dont make it.


With the above in mind, we can still make finals, I've got us finishing 8th, playing against GWS/West Coast in an elimination final.

Not to mention re-injuring players who are not 100% fit and under-done.

If our last game is on the Thursday that is absolute crap and there should a petition or some shit, this would be completely unfair, especially adding that Port would have an extra 2 days off. They've really screwed us with fixturing this year.

Having said that, I think we make finals if either Bulldogs lose 1 game or Saints or Giants lose both, or we win both but I'm not too confident on beating Port, especially after this bullshit suggestion.

Most likely scenario for us to make the 8 I think is we beat the Suns and Saints lose both games.

If we could make 6th or 7th I think we'd be a very good chance of winning the first final, not so confident if we get 8th and have to play richmond or the weagles.

I assume you mean something besides "TO PLAY IN FINALS", which should be the aim of any season for any team. Otherwise basically you're wanting us to tank.

I'd imagine (and hope) that the aim of the club is a premiership, that has even been stated by Bucks and Sides this year. They're gunning for a flag not gunning for finals to just make up the numbers.

Make no mistake finals is not the end game, the premiership IS!

So I don't understand how some supporters are happy to just make finals.
