Parker was good throughout the season, particularly in the 2nd half of the season, but had a shocking final series, along with the likes of Headland and McManus.

Parkers on 231 games.Going on last season he plays without a doubt but I think it will be his last.

Thornton and Grover are the obvious options to take over Parkers role in 2008, but Duffield is another who could possibly fill that role. I'm a big fan of Duffman. We also need to find a spot for Drum since the forward line looks pretty full in 2007.

Parks has been a rock for us down back but i really think it's in the interest of the team to bring in a Thornton (if fit), Duffield or Drum. I think his game time will be limited in 2007 although he will be the prefered back up plan.

He has been a champ but time catches up with us all and although he had a great year, he looked older the longer the season went. The type of bloke Parks is, you'd reckon he'd be happy with this and stoked that we are finally developing some young talent in the back half to follow in his footsteps.

I agree. But it is interesting that in that 5, 3 are pure midfielders, plus our ruckman at 4. Even Pav plays a midfield cameo. Yet it is perceived as our weak area, and clearances, for which all of these players have a major responsibility, is definitely an issue.
