The first question must be:
Why on Earth did the AFL put the 3rd, 4th and 5th team on Sunday?
Next year:
4:40 - West Coast v Melbourne
2:10 - Richmond v Fremantle
1:10 - Sydney v North Melbourne
I know every team can make the 8 but you would not expect most of those sides to finish in the 8. Reduce the likelihood of this happening.
Why did they schedule West Coast v Richmond on a Friday night in Round 22? Channel 7 would've wanted Ben Cousins return game against WC at Subi to be their FNF game.

Cuz wasn't a Tiger when the fixture came out.
when was the last time that they actually did?
It did last year, they pulled a game away from the Gold Coast!! Kangaroos v Melbourne wasn't it if I remember rightly. The fixture doesnt change.
TV Rights preclude that.
a couple of times in the early 90's...
collingwood v essendon in 1990 was moved to waverley on a sunday...
and collingwood v st kilda moved from moorabbin to the MCG in 1992...
I have tickets to Hawks vs Bombers on Sat and Pies vs Dogs on Sun in R22.
If they clash will the AFL refund our money?
special arrangements can be made for Round 22
Ch 7 stations gets either an early arvo or mid arvo game on Saturday, while Ch 10 get the other so there is no game time clash. Fox get to show the second Friday Night game.
Channel Seven paid a lot of money so the football can feed into the Sunday news.
so let them take the mid arvo game while 10 get the early game
No changing the fixture, if they do they are hypocrits.
