Essendon v Hawthorn (same as Stiffy - no idea at this stage)
COLLINGWOOD to beat West Coast (reasonably confident)
PORT ADELAIDE to beat North Melbourne (reasonably confident)
RICHMOND to beat Melbourne (60 -40)
BRISBANE to beat Adelaide (confident)
SYDNEY to beat Geelong (confident)
CARLTON to beat Western Bulldogs (50-50)
FREMANTLE to beat St Kilda (60 -40)

And to think had I stuck with my original tips for the round I would have got...

It was a tough round thats for sure. A lot of upsets. I alas, only got 2 as well, and am hoping everyone else had a shocker as well

You have to get lucky some time.

I ended up getting 3 in the footy tipping comp at work and share the lead on 40. We increased our lead on the others by 1.

How you might ask?? I wondered this myself, and when I checked I had actually written down Collingwood in error

my tips for this weekend (don't even ask how i've been going so far this season)...

Hawthorn over Essendon (could co either way this one)
Collingwood over WCE
Port over Kangaroos
Brisbane over Adelaide (sorry fellas)
Sydney over Geelong (wouldn't be surprised if the cats win though)
Carlton over WB
Freo over St Kilda

Upset Special: Melbourne over Richmond

I'll stick with what I said a few days ago. Even if it means tipping Carlton for the first time this year. Also only the second time I've tipped Richmond (I guess I've been a bit slow to get on that bandwagon).

Tips for next round:

HAWTHORN to beat Essendon (50-50, dumb and dumber)
COLLINGWOOD to beat West Coast (went with home team. 50-50)
PORT ADELAIDE to beat Kangaroos (records are there to be broken and Port are due)
RICHMOND to beat Melbourne (60-40)
BRISBANE to beat Adelaide ( 70-30. I am happy to eat humble pie)
SYDNEY to beat Geelong (50-50 went with home team)
WESTERN BULLDOGS to beat Carlton (mainly because they got a serve from their president)
FREMANTLE to beat St. Kilda (confident cos its at Subi but freo could be on a high after a big away win)

This round is VERY tough

Adelaide are not without a chance although I'd say that's the love of my team talking rather than any logic!

and i have played my joker for this round [gets double points but u can only play it once!]

I'll bet there will be an upset though..
eg Melbourne could get up
Power still have beat "Roos for teh 1st time
Geelong will get sneak one in soon
St Kilda are possibles over there - can freo cope with a 3 in a row possibility!!
..then maybe the Crows .. hmmm - perhaps I should change my mind!!

How dumb am I for thinking that Hawthorn could possibly have enough guts and determination to beat badly injury depleted Essendon side.

Hawthorn are rubbish (I hope saying that doesn't come back to bite me...), I was nervous when they kicked the opening two goals, but their skill level is just hopeless. I'll continue tipping against them for a while yet.

I got sucked in last week by Hawthorn - fancy thinking they would get 2 in a row!! I think poor Peter Schwab might need a stress test too!!

It was two losses in a row. They were comfortably beaten by North last week.

I was referring to the previous week, Dave. - didnt make that clear.

What i meant was that after tipping them to beat Carlton I should have known better than to think they could get 2 in a row against the "Roos.

I got 6 despite my blind loyalty to Adelaide , also missed out on West Coast, their travel bug now looks well and truly a thing of the past.

Got 7 - missed on the Coasters at least better than the 2,5 and 2 for the previous 3 weeks.
