I feel these guys have not been singled out as major contributors of our lousy position. Twigs that go to other clubs seem to bulk up faster than our lot. Not only that, but we always seem to die out in games. In the last 3 years, there must be less than half a dozen last quarters that we have won - and that includes the games we have won. Weren't these guys the same lot that were booted out of Collingwood? The board should look at snaffling the WC, Bulldogs or Hawks conditioning and fitness staff. After all, those teams run all day and more often than not run over the opposition. If your not fit enough, you will tire more quickly and your skills will seemingly deteriorate. Our story all year. Anyway, it's just a thought.

Clearly we need to look what clubs like Kangaroos, Collingwood, Brisbane and Hawthorne did during the last preseason as it seems to have worked well. These should include:
- Getting all injuries fixed up now so that players can have a full pre-season, this may mean not bring back Deledio, give Tambling an operation to help the injury he is clearly carrying (i hope) and fix up Johnsons hand and any other lingering injuries that could interupt the preseason
- Get McGuane, Thurstfield, Huges, Riewoldt, JON etc. all to hit the Gym. If Thursty is ever going to become a serious FB he is going to have to put at least another 7-10kgs on him
- I agree we need new conditioning coaches so guys like Casserly don't keep going down
- Maybe some altitude training, seems to have worked for the Magpies

Easier said then done to bulk players up. Everyones body composition is different and some people take longer to gain weight then others or have trouble putting weight on at all. A perfect examples of this is brady rawlings

I think our conditioning staff are doing alright.

a) We've had virtually no soft tissue injuries this year.

b) Deledio put on nearly 10kg in his first year with the club, while other blokes like Foley who are prepared to work hard have bulked up a lot.

There's a handful of naturally skinny players at every club...the difference with ours ATM is we have so many players in our senior side that have only done 1-3 pre-seasons.

In 2005/06 we ran out games much better than we did most years under Frawley with a mature side. Once we have a more mature side we'll be fine IMO...just takes time.
