Downloaded the demo for this a couple of days ago and i have to say i'm pretty blown away. Massive improvement over FM2, which looked pretty bloody sweet as it was. No amount of ingame videos, screenshots etc can convey how great this game looks on a full HD screen.

Been a lot of talk on here about photo modes. Seriously, in game this looks better than the pics i've seen posted here apparently in this "photo mode", it's that good.

That's not even touching on how the game plays. The demo is rudimentry, single track, half a dozen cars of varying classes yet still is incredibly addictive. The in car view is super smooth, damage is realistic, physics are spot on. Can't wait to get in there and start tweaking the tuning.

Friggin unbelievable game. I was going to wait till post MW2 to pick it up but that's out the window. I'll have it on release day next week

So, it's out.... anybody else loving it?

I splashed out and got the wheel with it... great fun!

You can have some fantastic racing battles, especially in the lower classes. (F to C)

Only thing that SUCKS so far for me is the online part.... the "matchmaking" method is shit. You can't select a class lower than A class in matchmaking. The only way you can race lower classes online is if you create a private room and invite people. LAME.

The other problem with matchmaking, especially for us Aussies, is that you have no control over WHO you race..... so you generally get thrown into a random room mostly containing dumb-arse Americans where lag becomes an issue.... and of course, you often get the one or two ********s at the start who use the other cars as their brakes...

FIX THE BLOODY ONLINE TURN 10.

Other than that, great game. :thumbsu:

I narrowly went borderlands last week when it released on the same day, but this is an eventual must buy for me in the next month or so, demo was awesome.

Kicking arse in worldwide sales, second after wii fit this week so it should mean good support to fix any issues

Shift hasn't exactly been panned mate, but for the sheer volume of game that you get, the cars, tracks, mods etc, it can't hold a candle to F3 imo.

Download the demos mate, easiest way to tell

There have been some great designs and photos posted on the internet from the game since its release.

The talent and dedication on some of the vinyl designers is pretty amazing.

I was in JB Hi-Fi the other day and I saw NFS Shift being played and visually it was stunning. But if overall F3 is more packed with features then I guess I will go for that.

To others who have played this, did you hear weird clicking/popping sounds when driving. It happens alot on paved sections of road and when there is a lot of driving noise. Its a glitch of some sort and really spoils a great driving experience. Ive had to turn the sound down to make the game playable. The noise is very annoying.

I have been reading other forums and there has been a lot of posts in relation to this fault. Even rumours that the sounds could cause damage to speakers. The game has been out for a few months and there has been no fix released. The developers must be aware of this fault, and I reckon its real poor form to release a game with such an obvious glitch.

@Shift swiftly: thank God somebody acknowledged this. I was unable to get feedback on forums.teamxbox conforming this.

I had actually noticed this the first time I started racing in Forza 3. It can be annoying, but I've gotten somewhat used to it. It actually happens more on some tracks, and not so much on others. It's more noticeable and frequent on the 14+ km track Kamidoko...whats it called again? I thought maybe a dirty or scratched disc might be causing it.

Swaped the disc, still there. Definitely a bug.

Just get used to it mate. Don't let that ruin an otherwise unmatched racing experience.
