Foxtel - Worst Draft coverage EVER!!!

Having just made the mistake of turning of SEN and paying through the nose to watch Foxtel I have been absolutely frustrated and annoyed with the awful coverage of such an important event.

Lets be honest, who cares what a player picked up 10 years ago thinks. I want as much information about all of the kids as SOON as they have been picked.

Dunstall the FLOG only mentioned picks when they were from the Hawks.

Worst coverage ever! Needless to say getting information on Foxtel about Freo draft picks was a waste of time

Can't comment because I listened to SEN which was still pretty average but atleast they shut up while the picks were being read out.

I turned off half way through Scully's interview and tuned in to SEN.

From the decision to read the picks in reverse order for the top 10 to the point at which they started talking over the live draft the whole thing was completely misconceived and a disgrace. They completely missed the point of what makes it interesting to us, the fans.

It had been reported that FoxSports were only showing the first round live, and that they would be doing other stuff for the rest of the draft.

So luckily I had SEN already open. On a positive note, SEN were pretty good and tried to give as much information as possible on the draftees.

What was thye point of having Kevin Sheehan on the panel if you were not going to talk about the players being selected, when they were being selected? The only thing I can think of is the producers had to get value for money out of their "personalities". They have missed the point. As fans We want to know about the kidswho we have selected, not dribble about things of the past! An absolute disgraceful effort Foxtel!!!

You are going in with the good bait there Brades. But seriously, didnt you find the lack of information frustrating? The only way that the viewer know who had just been selected was when on the bottom of screen their name and club popped up.

Lack of information? There isn't much information to give. Kevin Sheehan doesn't know every player and since we don't have an independent scouting association like the American leagues, we can't have someone give an opinion while it is still going as the recruiters are still at work. It was fine, maybe another interview or two but because the draft goes so fast its not easy to throw in interviews so quickly.

the coverage was horrible. more info needed. but what annoyed me more was that there were times when i couldnt hear the names, see players reactions etc. they could have done it much much better... foxtel has been shizen ever since they made the horrible mistake of getting rid of the fox footy channel nothing better than coming home at 3 am half pissed to scoff out on cold pizza and watch "the last time they met" or "classic finals"..... they annoy me

You are an absolute TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a big problem when the kids who are being selected are watching and get told by their mum that they were picked because they saw their name against a clubs emblem at the bottom of the screen. ABSOLUTE CRAP!!!

By the sounds of it I am glad my foxtel shat itself due to the storm we had here in Melbs - I just listened to SEN instead.

they arent over exagerrating either it truly was absolutely pathetic .
They were interviewing people like Adam goodes etc and talkiing about drafts 10 years ago all while the actual draft was going on.

They were dribbling absolute crap the whole time and only way to see who was picked up was by a tiny scrolling message going along the bottom of screen and only info it gave was players name an team they came from had no idea what position they were likely to play.

Absolute horse tish of a show, they could not have fkd it up any worse. Producer should har gotten the arse by now.
Ended up logging on to AFL.com, they had the vitals and video's of most of the players..

It was like they were catering to viewers who only had a casual interest, and minimal knowledge of any players. Right from the ridiculous focus on the number 1 pick (carrying on like he won the Brownlow or something) to completely ignoring the 2nd round onwards.
The chick reporter asking Dean Bailey if moments like this (cashing in his loser tickets) made coaching worthwhile was quite humorous also.
Demetriou just ruins everything he touches.

The 10 to 1 was crap took all the surprise out of who was going number 1. Your pick number 1 for a reason that is to be the first name read out and everyone is paying attention, do the think the family and friends of who was picked up 10 to 5 really took much interest in who was picked in the 4.
I didnt mind the interviews but they should of had them in the corner and the main view on the picks and the kids reactions.
