So Freo won 16.10.106 to GWS 11.16.82 at Canberra.

Of the 16 goals. Matera kicked 4, Hogan, Taberner and Walters kicked 3 each.

13 out of 16 goals from 4 blokes.

The fact it was GWS, who is a top 8 side and in Canberra, away from WA, is impressive.

It shows if you give Ross Lyon a half decent forward line and a half decent midfield to feed the forwards, Ross Lyon cant play attacking football

Good on him. Freo needed an overhaul after 2015 and it was never going to turn around too quickly but I like a lot of their imports (Hamling, Hogan, Hill, McCarthy, Lobb).

Still have a way to go perhaps but I think he’s building a good team.

I don't think me saying they should make finals is extreme. I believe they have the talent. It certainly doesn't hurt having the best player in the game.

Again, I think finals is a pass mark for Ross this year.

Good call. We'll be up and down again this year - the team is very young and inexperienced (bottom 4 for age and games played every week) - but provided we get a decent run with injury we'll have a few good games like today. I think there's the nucleus of a decent team who are getting used to playing together.
