Never did I claim McCarthy as equal to Boyd
Never did I claim Griffen to be equal as Fyfe
Never Did I claim I knew what GWS asked for. (they probably didn't asked for anything)
What i'm saying is Boyd wanted out, McCarthy wanted out. GWS know these players want to leave. Both occasions they said the players are not up for trade. Knowing Boyd will eventually leave they waited until the dogs gave them a big offer that they considered too good.
Knowing McCarthy will eventually leave (his manager said he hates living in Sydney), He will not be at GWS in a few years time. But they held onto him because unlike the Boyd case they didn't get an offer they considered too good or at least good enough for him.
GWS couldn't get what they want for him this year.
That doesn't say they asked for anything. It says that couldn't get what they want for McCarthy, what they value him at is more than what Fremantle offered. You claimed,
Sigh
Maybe if you read our board, sorry my board, the Freo board, you might find the truth.
Read the comments on the official FFC website, GWS were unwilling to part with Cam, after last year " it would be a bad look for us " said Gubby
Freo offered 22 + next years first plus a player and his wages, WTF more do you want.
Sick and tired of shallow downhill skiers who pretend to support this club, suddenly popping up to make disparaging remarks about the club because we didn't draft Buddy the 4th strike Franklin
Who then dissappear until we lose our first game of the season
"From what i've heard" give me a break, you have read what a fellow hipster flog pissed and moaned about, then decided to add to to it,

And if they did ask for something it doesn't say I knew it.
Please read properly. sigh
You're an absolute muppet. As the Melbourne poster said, GWS didn't want to trade Boyd, but Footscray got it done, the situations are eerily similar. Whether or not you believe with what the spin doctors from the club say we offered, personally I don't, every man had his price, they would've budged if we offered enough.
People like you are the problem, launching ad hominems on people with differing opinions. You're like a religious fundamentalist, blindly following what the club does without an ounce of critical thinking or questioning, you don't know anything about me, in fact if I really didn't care or support the club why would I care if we got McCarthy or not?
It's quite pathetic that the senior posters on our board think they're above and beyond everyone else because they spend most of their lives posting away on an anonymous football forum and going to training sessions claiming theyre some sort of insider. I mean there's nothing wrong with supporting the club and not caring about winning or losing, just going to have a good time once every fortnight, that's fine and I respect you because coughing up hundreds of dollars for your seat helps the club. There's a great saying that goes something along the lines of "there's nothing wrong with making a mistake, but making the same mistake over and over again is stupidity" it applies to Fremantle at the trade table.
Now continue blindly following the club in everything they do, I'm sure next year will be our year, Ross will definitely have a secret plan!!! De Boer will improve through the roof, and Taberner will be up there in the Coleman! Who's going to the Grand Final next year any way? Flights are cheap at the moment, get in early cause they're going to go through the roof once we win our prelim!
Really? You went there? Less experienced, perhaps...but...lesser?I sit here as a Fremantle supporter after two weeks of trading. This comes after a few years of consistent top four finishes, one lost Grand Final, a straight-sets exit in 2014, and a pretty flat 2015 campaign. The ultimate insult comes via the Eagles – the cross-town rivals with a lesser coach, who only a few years ago were spooners, making the Granny this year.
No you are wrong as i never said I knew what GWS asked for.No you are wrong as i have patiently tried to tell you, but you are adamant you know otherwise,
Cam was never on the table, ever, although we offered massive overs. Including 22 + next years 1st + a player + wages
The reason was " It will be a bad look because of the Boyd Trade last year " thanks Grubby
Meanwhile they offered up Tomlinson to Carlton, who also has 2 years to run on his contract, only to withdraw him when Carlton reneged on their outrageous demand for him, at the 11th hour.
Do not tell me to read properly when you are swishing your butterfly net around hoping to catch a blowfly
Respect is earned, and i gave you ample opportunity to validate your claims.

Clearly you are a one eyed Fremantle supporter that can't see reason and even when other Fellow Fremantle supporters can see reason you say this too them.
The truth is Fremantle couldn't get the job done, GWS traded a contracted number 1 pick Boyd after one year, they wouldn't trade McCarthy after 2 years because its a bad look when they know he wants out and will leave eventually?
Your offer couldn't sway them, whatever the "Fremantle officials" say they offered wasn't good enough. Fremantle are in a premiership window and should of done more to fix a big hole in their list
Really? You went there? Less experienced, perhaps...but...lesser?
yeah no he hasn't and yeah good way to keep up with conversation when you got nothing leftHogan has already expressed a desire to play for Freo once his contract has expired
I'm not worried about a thing
Yeo wanted to come to Fremantle.
Part of the problem is Freo are now gun shy after their previous trading mistakes. But let's look at the flip side of the most famous one:
The Hawks gave up a young promising key position player in Croad, despite their fans wishes, and another promising young tall in McPharlin.
They got picks 1(Hodge), 20 (Ellstone) and 36 (Mitchell).
The Hawks took a chance by getting rid of Croad+McPharlin and in return they got 2 of the corner stones of their 4 flags.
Once bitten twice shy in Freo's case, but sooner or later they are going to have to take a punt again.
And rumour was WC was Bennell's first choice till we knocked him back.
If we didn't have the history we have I reckon we would of gotten him too.
And Jetta and Redden.
I will give you Hodge but Mitchell at 36 was a fluke and every club had passed him over including yours.
You lost Judd, who was the key to a weage dynasty IMO, and your return failed miserably in the GF this year
You dont have to trade for a KP gun, Pav is a perfect example, the gems are often within your grasp without giving up the farm in a one sided trade
i look forward to the Boyd trade with a lot of interest considering the decline in the Franklin debacle.

Personally would have taken Bennell.
Win for Freo but obviously getting Bennell early kaboshed any McCarthy deal.
Suspect if hadn't put Bennell to bed they would have got Bennell for late 2nd rounder after getting McCarthy. In retrospect it wasn't great strategy by Bondy.
Understand that, every club has players eventually wanting out. How many trades were done this year form players wanting out? McCarthy was the only one that couldn't get across. GWS have proven they will give players up that want out which is what I'm saying with Boyd and they've done it with quite a few other players beforeTom Boyd was traded because the Bulldogs captain and AA midfielder suddenly decided he wanted to go to GWS. No one of that standing in our club wanted to leave.

Yeah good point, don't disagree that Fremanlte have a strong culture and well done to the club for building it.We haven't had many lately. Possibly because we've built a pretty loyal culture due to the fact we don't try trade players against their will.

To land McCarthy they would of had to think outside the box and disrupt the playing group to a degree and thought it would be better not to do that.
