Freo's trading and drafting

C'mon man, you've had two Freo posters genuinely agreed and responded to your forward line analysis that you provided, yet you're going to ignore that and highlight the posters who are fighting you instead?

All right fine you aren't all bad ;)

There's hope for 2 of you

I watched Gaff. Mr Uncontested Possession.

Shuey loves the handball receive too.

At least they laid some tackles in the GF, unlike your captain.

Coz that's what you want, right? Your elite run and carry players extracting the ball?

Imbecilic.

Yet he was the first player each week Eagle fans wanted dropped, go figure...

No he wasn't. Stop making shit up.

He had a lean patch in the middle of this year where there were queries over his long-term viability, but I challenge you to find posts calling for his head from Eagles posters. McGinnity and Selwood were our two whipping boys this season.

And anyway, the thread is about Freo's trading and drafting. Not sure why we're now discussing the Eagles.

I was defending Josh for most of the year against Eagles supporters, so wipe your ass with that.

And its not my fault you all come in here commenting and expecting nothing in return...

wal let me save you the trouble

Josh Kennedy @ 22 years old
Games 16
Kicks 150
Handballs 52
Marks 110
Goals 31
Behinds 17

Matt Taberner @ 22 years old
Games 15
Kicks 83
Handballs 42
Marks 51
Goals 14
Behinds 7

If you are going to do a comparison, do it properly.

As for the sharp decline? 2014 Vs 2015 for Taberner averages per game
-1.3 Kicks
-0.6 Handballs
-1 Marks
+0.1 Goals
-0.2 Behinds
-1.5 Tackles

So he improved a whole 0.1 goals per game, but the rest of his stat lines went backwards. Still think it's BS when I said he regressed last year?

I'm not supporting the comparison but if you're going to do it properly don't forget to add in game time. Taberner's stats could take a huge leap forward in 2016 just with the abolishing of the sub rule.

Care to substantiate this BS?

let me compare Taberner's first 3 years to Josh Kennedy.

Kennedy
29 Games
148 kicks
90 handballs
238 disposals
128 marks
18 goals

Taberner
28 games
162 kicks
84 handballs
246 disposals
102 marks
23 goals

Developing nicely I would say.

I remember Melbourne supporters pointing out a few years back that Jack Watts' first few years were statistically better than Franklin and Riewoldt's. I think Taberner could become a good forward but these types of arguments are pointless.

Taberner still managed %73.5 game time, so not that bad. No idea on Kennedy from 2009 as Footywire doesn't have them for that year.

Hazardous exercise comparing KPFs in the first couple of years, anyway. They get tried out in various positions, they get rotated a lot, spend time in reserve footy, and of course at that age most are naturally inconsistent and still finding their feet. Some will have a slow start then become elite in their mid to late 20s, some burst out of the blocks and plateau afterwards.

Comparing Boyd or Taberner or any other young KPF to Buddy and Riewoldt and JK is pointless in my view. Not at this stage of their careers, anyway.

That's fine, but where is Buckley mentioned in any of my posts?I notice a lot of freo supporters revert to bagging other clubs or coaches to get a point across, doesn't work.If you're happy with Ross, then good for you, if you want to bag other clubs/coaches, then take what you give.If you actually read both my posts in the context it was given, it was in reply to another freo supporter, bagging another club.I was just pointing out Ross hasn't left freo yet, so we have to wait and see.
I agree but I am showing you a view from the outside looking in. To get Rid of Lyon now would be stupid. To get rid of Lyon then replace him with a high elite coach Like Mark Neeld would be even more stupid.

Personally I agree with most of the criticism of Freo on here.
- Lyon has never changed his gameplan and hasn't since he started at the Saints its still the same at Freo - defend at all costs.
- Lyon also plays too many guys who just don't perform. There doesn't seem to be any pressure on players who either don't get enough of it, don't kick enough goals or get the ball and kick it to the ****ing opposition.
- We do have one of the worst forward lines in the league the only player who I consistently rate now is Walters, Pav is still good but I don't think he should play more than 15 games next year so we can no longer rely on him.

Saying all that though I'm also happy about.
- Lyon has been fantastic for the club and is a very good coach, maybe not the best, but has consistently been one of the best since he started.
- Our forward was woeful this year and I can see a number of players potentially providing more next year - Ballas, Mayne, Tabs, Yarren, Crozier, Apeness, Griffen/Clarke could all improve on their 2015 output.
- We have already had changes to our forward line coach which could help out from round 1
- I'm pretty comfortable where we sit - we improved our midfield and if Fyfe can stay fit for 22 games I think we should be right in it, time will tell though

And I sure as **** ain't hanging around here for the next 5 months trying to win this argument

Their tall forwards are perhaps the worst in the league. Maybe Brisbane worse?

But their midfield is awesome, and small forward and defenders excellent.

A lot riding on their talls.

If Sandy, Pav and Johnson can stay fit they can definitely give it another crack. If they can't then they don't have a chance.

I see this troll-fest is still rambling along with the full blessing of a certain mod.

Is it likely to get back on track any time soon?

woot good read this thread.
get some different opinions and a more accurate assessment of my team.
Heres to exciting football next year with more goals.
