I was dreading this game all week. all my fears came true. Gonna be a long year.

Fyfe is the only player that made this garbage team look somewhat competitive.

His skills are surely the work of the black arts and we should all bow down and pray that he isn't spudified upon return.

Very disappointing effort today, shameful even. These guys aren't playing for each other, hard to find any positives.

Soulless effort, should be crichton and jvb's last game, gave nothing but the yips. Duffield was the catalyst for this poor showing, that missed goal in the second quarter gave the eagles their momentum. Fails to commit his body to the contests. Think Lyon sacrificed the wrong defender, ibbotson should have been out there instead of duffield.

The team struggles with teams that spread. This is a coaching issue, too many inside 50's to defend against. We swarm the defence and conceed the mark as we try to release.

Thought griffen offered more than a lot of our other players, was the wrong sub out.

Saw Ross Lyon sitting in the box with this arms crossed, defeated. Should have been taking notes. Worsfold gave him a coaching lesson today, I hope he's learnt plenty!

He can't drop himself, but I think his tactics were as bad as our worst player.

Honestly wtf is this absolute crap, we have a 211cm ruckman and two capable midfielders in Mundy and Barlow. Why can't they just go back to the 2010 centre clearance format were we won't bottom for clearances

Thank goodness that's over. I actually had some vague hope after half time - I could see that we weren't the better team, but the effort, pressure and intensity was there and if a few things went our way then I thought we might be in with a chance to get it late in the game.

Second half starts, two quick goals thanks in part to s%!t ordinary umpiring and then we're all a mess. We just let them do what they wanted, we panicked and stopped moving. Terrible stuff.

I can't see much hope. Pavlich's efforts in he first half were the reason we were level. He won't be around for much longer and need a few more of him, Fyfe, a couple of others to be a contender. The talent's not there. It's not coming through. The club has built a side that is comfortably in the 9th-13th range.

Yes and the game plan employed has been steadily worked out by other coaches since then. Its not going to suddenly become a mystery again just because we are wishful thinking. Lyon needs to rejig it or you can look forward to another 3.5 years of today.

Well congrats to freo for perfecting the counter-scoring game plan. Absolutely marvellous effort. Being reduced to cheering points is not my idea of fun.

No player can hold their head high and no-one coach or player deserve to get off lightly.

Game plan needs a lot of tweaking, no one sane would say its premiership winning with the team and the game plan.

i alway said that harvey had no "plan b", maybe that is because he knew the team had no fire in their belly. sometimes you have to change things on field, not necessarily from the box

Are we the new Richmond? Well after all these years I'm used to using hope as a crutch Not sure what else I can do.

I do understand where you are coming from though, the talent isn't there but the lack of intensity is the worry for me rather than the lack of talent. You can have all the talent in the world and if you don't have the WANT to win, it ain't gonna happen. Melbourne have talent in buckets but there intensity isn't there.

Pretty grim for us for the future.
