Gary Ablett in Gold Coast huddle?

Hadn't heard from Diamond and presumed he had got the sack. Worst sports journo going around (slightly worse then Rucci).

:eek::eek: What a site!!! Definately doesnt have tickets on himself....:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Echoing the sentiments of rizzo........what a ****ing tosspot......

whoah whoah whoah...first of all, if Gary Jnr was in the Gold Coast huddle - IF, and I dont know, thats what was written and i was asking for confirmation -I dont take that to mean anything. im not implying that i think it means he will leave.
that wasnt the point of the question. I just meant that IF he was, then I dont think its a good look. I dont have a problem at all with what he chooses to do; it's his life, and he deserves everything he can get.
I just meant that I dont think its a good look to be seen to be publicly getting close to the inner sanctum of a club which is openly courting him while still employed by another club. It wasnt an article in the age either, it was a paragraph in the VFL wrap up. I just wanted to know if it was fact or not.

I would not classify going to a 1/4 time huddle of a VFL game as getting into the inner sanctum of a team. Every man and his dog can go out there and listen to what is being said.

It is not like he was openly conducted contract negatiations in the middle of a crouded room. People will see it for what it was and that is one brother showing support to another when they are playing football.

I am sure the Selwood brothers would have come to vist Joel after the grandfinal in the rooms and it did not lead to rumours of them defecting to Geelong.

Remember when Gaz was injured last year and didn't stick around to watch the Cats play, preferring to go home & watch Jason Davenport's debut for Port?

Gaz might go to GC, but not because of this.

Oh god mate, that's awesome. Haven't laughed that hard all week.

Gotta love the Times New Roman font and the "Mum, get the camera and come over to the crappy vacant block over the road - I've just watched scrubs and reckon it'd look so cool if I take a photo trying to look like Zach Braff in a dream sequence".

And the Danny Green photo, taken on a phone by the look of it, screams "who the F are you and what the hell are you sitting next to me for ya freak?!"

Haha! Obviously not a fan Rizzo! Would it be fair to say that journos need some arrogance about them but this might be just a little too much!?

Geez, he does have cards on himself. Also a fairly ordinary writer if those articles are anything to go by.

The Age reported toay that Gary was seen in the Gold Coast huddle yesterday at 1/4 an 3/4 time.....can anyone confirm this? Not a good look if true...

I gather you've never been to a VFL or even local league game.At the breaks fans can go to the huddles,so why wouldn't the family member of a player ?

You'd be really peeved if you saw the VFL game on ABC TV on saturday.A Coburg player went and checked on the condition of a Box Hill player being stretchered off.Guess that's not a good look for you............even if they are brothers.

Dylan Howard says hello :p

That said, I take your point about Diamond

I understand I'm in the minority here, but Gaz FFS use some common sense. Sure go watch your brother play but standing around at the Gold Coast huddle is a little tasteless all things considering.

Ah! Someone who's hit the target. You'd expect him to watch his bro play but joining the huddle was ill advised.

Maybe he just wanted to re-acquaint himself with his friends in the inner sanctum.:p

Word was out that Gazza was being paid by GC through 3rd party arrangements for orange boy duties for day hence presence at 1/4 & 3/4 times huddles, gotta have your vitamin C. NEXT GAZZA/GC STORY ......................

Is the OP serious or just taking the piss ?
I've seen AFL players in different VFL huddles before when they've had a brother playing in that team.If the GC were playing Geelongs VFL team then yes it might not be a good idea, otherwise who cares if he's supporting his brother.

As a journalist this comment shits me because it is absolutely spot-on describing so many journos these days.

I'm then type of journo that just wants to get the job done, go home and not worry about my name ever going in the paper...actually I hate seeing my name or face in the paper.

But there are so many average writers with a horrible news sense that make a name for themselves because they want it that way. That therefore takes the profession down a few pegs because it's mainly the journos that just want to big note themselves that get into the public eye.

Brent Diamond is one of those. I'm very close with people who work with Brent and I am yet to meet one person who liked him. In fact, some of those testamonials on his site were pisstakes on his going away card that he took seriously.

This story is BS, Brent Diamond is BS and I can't believe we're even talking about.

I've been at Geelong VFL finals and Gaz has gone out to the huddle. Swamped by autograph hunters.
Gold Coast officials need to be more on the ball. Clearly they should have joined the throng and thrust a contract in among all the other bits of paper and caps and so on and got Ablett's john hancock that way.
