It was graded as high contact based on what was in the Brisbane medical report which must have said something like "Neale had a saw jaw after Rohan hit him", even though it wasn't enough for Neale to actually leave the field at the time of the incident to receive any sort of treatment
In the absence of physical evidence the only thing contained in the medical report is Neale's words. The medical report is therefore whatever Neale says it is.

I look at that vision and I just don't see any head contact. Now that I've calmed down a bit, I think we should probably just give Neale the benefit of the doubt. It's better for footy that way. Just move on and give Jarvis a go next week and bring in Cameron the week after hopefully.

You saw as much of it as I did. Did you think Neale's action deserved what it got?
If Rohan did exactly to Neale as Neale did to him, would we be here crapping on about this? There would be no 2 week offer, or anything at all to discuss.

Yes, I do actually.

This would all go away if the AFL had the balls to punish whoever throws the first hit as equally as the retaliator, but they are clearly not serious about the problem.

So, until such time, I have no problem with how Rohan responded. Neale's staging and cry baby response reassures me that he would've responded just the same if he'd been hit first.

Neale is rapidly becoming my least favourite opposition player. It started last year in the PF, I think. He is a smart arse trouble maker who can’t handle being tagged.

The Club has to call Neale out for staging

Didn't used to be such a tool until he became the focal point at Brisbane and won the Brownlow and every other in season accolade. Think being under a superstar like Fyfe grounded him, but when you have a cocky little staging knob like Zorko as your captain, it's no surprise that you end up embracing that sort of attitude too.

Can't stand either of them now, even though I used to think they were both brilliant footballers.

Don't worry, still only 2 weeks on the sidelines meaning he'll be back against North

😉
11 touches, 1 goal and 3 tackles. That’s ordinary for 1 game. Buts thats Rohan’s combined figures over 2 rounds. He should come back through the vfl. Hopefully someone else takes their chance.

I reckon we must challenge with Scott having to front the AFL this afternoon to defend his actions at the 1/4 time break it's the perfect platform for him to slam Neile for taking a dive the AFL system for not dealing with instigators of reportable actions and ask for a ruling or clarification on why, this must surely be one of the rare occasion a coach can broach these subjects without being sanctioned for doing so.This is a chance to put the blow torch to the AFL's arse.

After reading Barrett's article today. can we start calling Harris Andrew's by his official nickname "Tom Hawkin's b*tch"?

For him to have a crack at Scott, after his team had the premiership handed to them on a platter in 2020, and they shat the bed like no other team has in the history of the AFL is not only embarrassing for him & the Lions, but shows what a simpleton he truly is.

It's interesting because there's now some speculation coming out that it was Daniher who had a crack at Scott & not Andrews - you can see here that Andrews is trying to pull Daniher back. Considering across his career that Daniher has played in a total of 2 elimination finals for 2 losses, maybe he isn' the one who should be having a crack at another coach or team

Rohan has been given 2 weeks.

From now on hold your jaw and cry is the message even if you were not hit.
No way Neal would get reported as he is blownlow favourite.
Was this the reason if not why.
They can comment on missed frees why can they not comment on this instead of being silent.

I DO NOT GET IT. ARE THEY SAYING WHAT NEAL DID IS OK.
If so IT SENDS A MESSAGE TO KIDS let's do it.
I can see Hawkins getting 2 weeks for doing this as they will change their stance.

After all we are the most reported side in the last 10 years. This is another example of why.

Agree. If Cats were "soft" then Brisbane was jelly in the 2020 finals

Whilst I agree that Neale acted up a bit I still think what Rohan did was not acceptable nor was it acceptable that Chis Scott was "Comfortable with what Gary did" It was off the play by a good distance and was a bad look also as he basically hit Neale from behind. I am a Geelong fan and do agree with some players being particularly harshly dealt with by the tribunal & MRP. But what Rohan did was a brain fade.
On what the Lions players supposedly said to Scott at qtr. time regarding Geelong's poor showing in 2020 GF was a cheap shot, after all, they had their chance to be there but themselves capitulated to Geelong in the preliminary final on their own deck. And me having said that also agree that it was a weak effort in many ways, the 2020 GF. Had a chance to ice the game mid second qtr. 3 easy missed shots when the were 4 goals ahead could have changed things. Instead Cats went into another melt down against Richmond and Scott and his brains trust were devoid of any counter plan, particularly when it came to Dusty Martin. My opinion is that Chris Scott inherited a premiership in 2011 and has butchered two real chances since.

May have been posted already but ... when is Geelong going to publicly challenge all of the bullshit decisions that fly our way via the MRC? This last one is a joke if there are no questions about Neale's actions before, during and after the incident with Rohan.

OK rub Rohan out, it was a cheap shot, but Neale started it, staged it and followed up physically and verbally with Scott. He has just entered himself into the total tool box.

Just heard Grant Thomas on the radio. He is ropable that Rohan has copped a suspension and Neale gets off Scott-free. He reckons the instigator should be penalised as well, but surprisingly he went onto say “Neale is a serial stager” and has to be called out for flopping like he did. Watch this space...

Oh he did not take a dive. What are we f*** Collingwood and richmond? Stop trying to defend a snipe. It’s immoral.

May not have been a 'dive' a la Alex Rance, but the way he flopped you'd have thought he'd been shot...totally disproportionate to a hit to the arm/shoulder. Forget what a fool Rohan is/was, Neale's reaction was designed to achieve a free kick, report (why else hold up 3 fingers?) and suspension

Andrews already has a nickname: Wingnut

I actually think he laid prone on the ground longer than Rohan had just before from his head clash.

Maybe a blessing in disguise. Tried to like Rohan, but too inconsistent.
Seems to think the ball is a bar of soap these days...
may be better after a holiday.
I think he will play better with Cameron back in the side, and if he cant make it back cos someone grabbed his spot. So be it

I know we all have that player that we love to hate, but I do question why Rohan is the target for so many. I know he never has huge numbers but he nearly always makes a contest and his tackling and pressure acts are constants. I can only imagine if we were to play a more attacking game in place of the stop start plan he would be of more benefit. He seemed to suffer in a defensive game structure in Sydney as well.

Yeah, completely agree. He certainly has his strengths and positives, but for mine his negatives can quite often outweigh that IMO.

I haven't seen any confirmation or indication we're going to challenge. I'm assuming we will accept the two week sanction?
