I've tried this once before, and it fell flat, so I'll have another go. It's my opinion that it's a fairly kind, and caring mob that tread these boards, and it occurred to me that if we could translate that into some sort of charitable donation, or sponsorship then that can only be a good thing. I don't know how it could work, so am open to ideas, but I thought that we could create a pot, where everybody donates what they can afford, it's then pooled, and if you put money in you get a vote as to were it goes, and if you're so inclined you can nominate a charity/animal/kid to sponsor, charity with most votes wins. This can then be rinsed, and repeated again if/when appropriate. Not sure who the financials would work, but team boards manage to sponsor players, I'm sure we could organise something. I'm wholly open to suggestions, or to be told to bugger off, but I like the idea think that it would be nice if as well as talking inordinate amounts of bullshit, perhaps we could make a bit of difference collectively somewhere else.

But seriously the best way to do it would be to decide the cause first, and then find a decent charity that supports that cause (not one that takes 99% of all donations for themselves for example) and then just go through a website.
