Geelong rorting the system

The crows were free to demand our future first in 2015. We traded it for Lachie Henderson that year. First ones to do it!

History made as Blues send Henderson to Cats for future draft pick - https://www.afl.com.au/news/201838

It worked out well. Geelong got the player they wanted and, after a bit of additional trading, we replaced Lachie Henderson’s mum with Harry McKay.

Win/win. As all trades should be.

You didn't trade a lot to get Patrick Dangerfield. Pick 10, pick 28 and Dean Gore for Patrick Dangerfield.
Well he was a RFA, Adelaide couldn't match the deal, the compensation was going to be Pick 13.

This is going to drive other supporters nuts, but Geelong actually did the right thing and traded for him.

I am sure you encountered certain crows posters on here that hate your team Port Adelaide more than they like the crows.

Go ask some of your crows mates their favourite grand final is. Some will say the 2007 AFL Grand final. That says something lol
Most still traumatised about us winning 13 premiership in 22 years from 1977-99 and have spent their every waking moment devising schemes to destroy us.

Nobody cares about your SANFL flags but you. Surely.

I think it's perfectly acceptable to hate your enemies more than you love your team. Especially us. I'd be shocked if there were North fans who loved our club more than they hate Essendon, shocked.

Love is conditional, hate is forever and unconditional.

Do you care about the handful of VFL flags that you've got. Your history makes you what you are. And in your case that's 15 wooden spoons.

I read it as 2-1 in the big league, Minnow.

I only count the wooden spoons I saw, I blame Essendon stealing our recruiting zone for our earlier spoons, it's allll their fault.

Who are you going to support when your club becomes a footnote in history?
I'll play golf and ski, what I do now. Watch soccer/cricket/storm. I still have my River.

I understand in Adelaide there is not a great deal to do outside of Football. Colombia is a bit different though. I am in the Carribean in 2 hours, Jackson Hole in ~9. Nothing much changes to be fair. I have assumed we're dead since 2013, I've grown accustomed to nothingness in respect of my AFL side. I suggest (for your own sanity) to do the same. Acquire other interests. Port might not compete for another flag before 2040.

You'll still be the peasants of a peasant city in the absolute arseh*le of Australia. Enjoy.

Nice never been to South America but I spent 4 months living in Vietnam a few years back and really enjoyed it.

Depends who you follow. Glenelg lost a few grand finals between 1969 to 1992. Only won 3 flags in 1973 , 1985 and 1986.

I can guess on how old you are. I am gonna guess you are born in 1960.

If that is the case, You might of missed out on watching 1954 to 1959 when Port won 6 flags in a row. Probably too young to remember 1962 and 1965.

But definitely remember those flags won between 1977 to 1999.

If you were born in 1960 and followed one of Port Adelaide, Sturt, Norwood, Glenelg or North Adelaide, you are 65 years old and saw a few flags in your lifetime.

If you were born in 1980 and followed either Woodville west Torrens eagles or central district bulldogs, the 1980s and 1990s would of been tough looking for success (yes Woodville west Torrens won a flag in 1993).

From 2000 onwards, you would be happy to follow Woodville west Torrens or centrals.

I know a few Glenelg fans in their 50s and 60s. Some might be too young to remember 1973, but fondly remember 1985-6 flags.

I am born in 1987, so I recently turned 38 years old. I am a South Adelaide Panthers fan by the way.

So Chris Scott berates a women bringing her to tears and Hocking steps in and no sanction or fine given? Why no fine?

'It was reported on Thursday evening Scott had brought an AFL staff member to tears after questioning the presence of accredited media person at a press conference following the Cats’ qualifying final win over Brisbane.

Scott called the staffer on Wednesday to apologise after Geelong CEO Steve Hocking spoke with league officials, according to Code Sports.'

I played footy with and against our golden generation so I was playing school footy with and against Craig Bradley, Dwayne Russell, Stephen Kernahan, Tony McGuiness, Tony Hall, Tony Antrobus, John Platten, Richard Champion etc. I was living and playing in Port's zone until we moved and unfortunately ended up in Woodville's zone.

This is a rort how, exactly?

Damien Hardwick brought his wife to tears I’m sure.

Was he ever sanctioned for abusing Williamstown players at that VFL match, out of interest?

This is what the conspiracists can't get through their heads.

The Crows could absolutely match on a Dangerfield contract. The thing is that Geelong didn't want to offer one.

You see, the Adelaide Crows get to see the exact contract with the TPP that Dangerfield is being offered. So Geelong can't offer him a low paid deal with bonuses beause it would raise questions from the Crows about just how much of an apparent pay cut he appeared to be willing to take. Also the shock through the rest of the AFL when the Crows only get band 2 or band 3 compensation for Patrick Dangerfield.

Or Geelong could offer him the full value of what they were giving him in his contract. But then they're stuck because you can't restructure free agency contracts.

But Geelong happened to have a first round pick that was better than any free agency compensation that the Crows would receive. So they can magnaminously offer to make a trade straight up, and not have to reveal what contract offer Dangerfield will actually be playing under.

Its funny that the only restricted free agent that Geelong have actually signed through that is Scott Selwood. Jeremy Cameron was always considered a player who GWS would match considering the single first round pick was never going to be enough compensation so they'd never have to pay him the actual free agency contract offer.

Dockers and Panthers combo... now that's a glutton for punishment.
