Geelong rorting the system

Geelong and Hawthorn are teaming up to set up a northern academy. New rort unlocked.
Hocko has his minions in focus groups this week devising 3 new CFL rorts to mess with Richmond fans some more.

Next week they're working on 3 new cap rorts.

Dank was at Manly (06-10) during the time they came under scruitiny, he then went to Cronulla and guess what, he then went to Essendon and guess what, yet right in the middle of all that The Weapon thanked him personally moments after a drought breaking flag win for months earlier jabbing Rooke who had 9 touches.

You cant make this up.

They didn’t come under scrutiny while he was there, they retrospectively were looked at.

You literally just DID make it up.

Dank was speared from Manly once Josh Perry complained about an injection that was part of a new program. Up until that point they hadn’t been injecting anything and more than likely had done nothing at all illegal.

Again, sports science evolves. Just because one thing that happened was illegal doesn’t mean everything before it was. I doubt Ben Johnson was cheating when he was winning his first Canadian championships.

I didnt say it was whilst he was there, I said it came from the period 06-10 when he was there, Perry was there from 08-10 I believe.
Poorly worded on my behalf but youre splitting hairs.

Robinson and Dank were very chummy indeed...

DEAN Robinson has straddled the divide between AFL and rugby league and finds himself with two grand final teams to cheer this weekend. Robinson, a hulking former rodeo rider, is one of the figures behind the revolution in Geelong's fitness regime, which has helped transform last year's unfit also-ran into grand final favourite.

But he has done it as a complete outsider to the game. Before he moved south last October to a foreign town and foreign football code, Robinson, 33, spent two years at the Manly Sea Eagles and wrote the program which has the team primed for Sunday's NRL grand final. From his office at Skilled Stadium, Robinson, the club's strength and rehabilitation manager, is in almost daily contact with Sea Eagles' fitness consultant, Steve Dank.

"It is satisfying to have had a hand in both and Steve has also had a big input here, even though he is not on the payroll here and never has been," Robinson said. "We discuss ideas and philosophies and a lot of them are common to both the Sea Eagles and the Cats." Robinson says the emphasis is on recovery, to be ready for games that are equally gruelling whether you are Geelong midfielder Gary Ablett or Manly fullback Brett Stewart.

Yep, had been working closely together for 2 or 3 years prior to 07 when Rooke was sent to Germany for calf blood injections to speed up recovery of his soft tissue hamstring issue.
it was a success so Geelong began aquiring Actovegin, sourced from calf blood, from an company associated with Dank.

Whilst all this was happening in the AFL, their previous project, Manle Sea Eagles, went on a 40-0 demolition of Melbourne Storm, in the 08 GF, it had been 30yrs since a team had been held scoreless in an NRL GF.
The year prior, Geelong, under Robinsons care, went on a 119pt demolition of Port, a record in the AFL GF.
See any similarities?

The main players all landed at Essendon, who went on a early season run before succumbing to soft tissue injuries.
If done properly, microtears from soft tissue injuries will increase muscle mass and the Actovegin is used to speed recovery, rinse, repeat.

And whilst Actovegin wasnt a banned substance, how it could be administered was.

We've already offered to give Port Power 1997 a retroactive 118-point headstart for Max Rooke's calf blood-infused hamstrings.
Its all good, be it 1pt or 119pts, a loss is a loss, we overachieved and your mob were a better team and were likely to win anyway.
In reflection though, surely you'd agree a more believable 50pt win would have drawn less scruitiny for the same result?

This has lots to do with the issue

Its 100% to do with it and you know full well. The AFL has a long history of ignoring things rather than dealing with things. They will also create whatever solution they think is best for themselves rather than worry about silly things like right and wrong.

You would believe that Dank was meddling with illegal drugs at every single sports club other than Geelong. I would believe that is just ridiculous and of course he was doing illegal things at Geelong as well.

Nah, 119 is way way funnier.

Right. Like when they essentially kicked one of the most powerful clubs in the game out of the competition for a season.

Dank wasn’t working at Geelong so why would I believe that he was dabbling in illegal drugs at Geelong.

He worked at Manly for 4 years before trying an injection that appeared to breach any regulations so what is the evidence that he did anything illegal before that.

Oh that’s right, it’s you telling me because you want me to agree with you.

‘This happened because I said it did.’

Yep, the AFL swept this under the rug a long time ago.
Similar to the UCI ignoring numerous positive tests of Lance Armstrong. The lesser evil was to conceal it rather than to expose the rotten practices and being opened up to scrutiny.

In the case of the AFL, the jig was up when the federal government got involved, which didn't want to be associated with it after funding the AFL with taxpayer dollars.

Essendon just happened to be the one that was last man standing in this whole charade.

Even in the case of Armstrong, the UCI eventually had to fall in line when overwhelming evidence meant that they couldn't hide it anymore.

An essential part of rorting is campaigning against other rorts you aren't a part of. Fagan is too old and slow to realise that by himself. Scott could probably give him a seminar on it at Morris Finance HQ.

Thankfully I just saw an interview with Swanny on 7 news about his new role at the AFL. I was relieved to see him in a Brisbane Lions polo talking about the changes Fagan, Daly and some of the players have requested be made.

We are on the right track again 🙏

Hawks fans don't care - we will beat you when it matters no matter how hard you are cheating ;)
Some of us don't need 5+ year dips down the ladder to formulate a finals side.

Love AFL.com.au ladder prediction today. Dingley Dump 9th ;)

PB will tell you technically he wasnt 'at' Geelong, because when suggested to be put on the books, Geelong declined, but the association was there.

There’s no technically about it. Why would there be. Is the guy who does PR for Macron part of Port Adelaide because they do apparel for the Power? F**k me 😂😂😂

Again, to reiterate, the closest two things he had to do with Geelong is that he was associated to a company that we got one legal supplement from, and our strength and conditioning guy who WAS employed used to speak to him regularly. You may as well say that some of Ken Hinkley’s ex footy mates who he talks footy philosophy with are part of Port because he runs some ideas by them or gets some ideas from them.
