I honestly beleive that this would not be a impossible goal for us to achieve next year, we lost 1 of our last 20 games last year and that was on the last kick of the day to the second best side in the comp. We are not an old side and we also have alot of young talneted players plus a few that have yet been able to break into the side who can all make a impact next year

most likely this want happen but its not beyond our reach

I definately dont think it is out of the question but, as your winning streak goes on through the season, teams really get themselves up to play against you and knock you off. And as much as you can get your own team up, the oposition can get itself up more. eg port last year, round 21 or whatever it was

teams will lift when they play us but the bottom line is that at our best we will beat anyone, its just a matter of iff we cant reguarly play close enough to our best

I'm tipping that you may have to re-evaluate that goal after round 1. :thumbsu:

Still a good show for the flag mind you.

there are 14 other clubs aiming to do that each year*

*Carlton aim to lose as many as they can each year.

I agree. I think Port will probably beat Geelong in round one. Then the Adelaide papers can have headlines like the Geelong Addy had a habit of doing. When Geelong beat the team who previously beat them in the Grand Final, the Addy would spalsh "REVENGE" across the back page.

Can 4 points really be revenge for losing a premiership? They were hollow victories as far as I was concerned.

I think Geelong will finish top 4 if they don't have a bad year with injury, but to win every game is too much to ask. I don't think that it has ever been done in a season in the history of VFL\AFL.

I know we have pretty humble blokes playing for us, but with a premiership under the belt and the possibility of another large winning streak, the tendency to play 110% at all times might wane a bit without the odd loss here or there.

Obviously we should try and win and win big every game but the loss to PA reminded the team what they all need to do to succeed.

I would love to see them win all games but even champion teams will have an off day every now and then.

The closest was Essendon in 2000 who lost 1 game for the whole year.

Maybe it isn't out of the question... Our one loss to Port during that huge winning streak was when we had Ling, Bartel and a young guy called Selwood out of the side. So 3 key players out of the side for one game and we still nearly pinched it. I think the one player we can't afford to lose to injury is Mooney.

So, if we assume we have a reasonable run with injury then I think we might come close to winning every game - I can dream can't I?? My only worries for next year are Hawthorn and Collingwood, I think they will improve a lot.

I wouldnt be to worried about those sides, we shouldnt forgot that we have the best second side in the land at that we have outstanding young players as well as the best recruting departement in the afl, no reason why we cant improve more than those sides

Our second side may have a harder time of it this year as they have lost more performers at that level than at league.

in the 2nds
The rucks will be weaker with King gone. West will be #1 ruck in the magoos and I know he did it for some of the time last year but in the finals he had king doing the bulk.

Key Position Players: Sam Hunt, Henry Playfair, Matthew Spencer, Todd Grima

Others: Gardiner, Tim Callan, Stephen Owen

That is the core of a v.good VFL side so our recruits will have to step up if the VFL side are going to be up there again.

true but the point i was making was that there is no reason why we cant improve more than collingwood and hawthorn

Wouldnt it be awesome to go through undefeated and to win every game :)
