An average game until half time. Then is exploded. It was great. I don't know if I would have survived it if it was the Crows though!

Sydney deserved it...and the Eagles kicked us out....so yeah I am happy!

Dead serious. The game had everything. Its tough and hard, courageous and close. The best GF I have seen for a VERY long time.

I respect that! The 2nd half was the only part of the GF worth watching imo. Congrats to Sydney though. Well fought out and deserved!

Was thinking the same. Just can't help wondering what the outcome would have been had we beaten west coast :(

I don't know..we will never know. However I would have been fairly confident. I think we could have beaten Sydney.

I found it hard to watch all the lead up stuff...the actual game was ok, but I just kept thinking 'I should be there'. Maybe next year.

God damn it....it should have been us!

Good point.

If we had won that game against St Kilda, then we would have probably been there - with a very good chance of winning it. :(

The truth is, we didn't. Congrats to Sydney on a great win and to both teams for a great competitive game. One of the best.

Their supporters must game good tickers - 3 games by under a goal during the finals series - don't think that has ever happened before.

That Sydney vs Geelong result was a huge one in the context of this result.

A great GF but still doesn't beat 1997 and 1998 (time to put those DVDs on again followed by the showdowns of 2005)

'BEST'?
are you serious?
I wanted sydney to win but this was far from a 'best' grand final
I agree with both sentiments.

It was close and thus interesting from that point of view, but it was not a game to showcase around the world to show just how good a spectator sport Aussie Rules can be.

The time to limit the usage of the interchange bench has come me thinks.

While it's probably automatic to think what might've been, we've gotta be careful not to take anything away from either combatant.
Chris Judd was undoubtedly the best player of the day. He was streets ahead of everyone.
Congratulations to the Swannies/Bloods. :thumbsu:
I was glad that they won, if only for the very fact that it's been so long!

Chris Judd Norm Smith. Dunno about that. Awesome first half...thought he went missing in the second half

Have to agree.

While the Ch10 commentary team were wetting themselves with his number of clearances, how many of his touches actually hurt Sydney?

That said, I don't think anyone else did enough to top him. A very even match with no individual standout.

WOW!

Didn't even hear the final siren because I was screaming so much for Leo Barry's mark! Nice to see the arrogant ********ers beaten. Just remember we'll be there next year! :)

First point - thats crap. What we don't want is a non-contact game and thats what happens when you turn it into a high scoring basketball type of game. This game was for the footy purist.

Second point - give me one compelling reason why they should do this.

Also Choko could take a leaf out of Roosy's book - How to win gracefully, Coulf quite easily of taken the ********** out of Demitriou but composed himself. Also happy to sea players like Williams, O'Loughlin and Goodes win premierships they deserve!

I would've. It'd be a fine well earned.

First point. Non contact game? You serious? Purist? Hehe, what a laugh. :D

Second point. Football is slowly but surely becoming bo-oring. No players in your attacking half is a joke at the best of times. It is a bigger joke when you do it week in week out as part of your team strategy. Without using the interchange bench 40 odd times in 3 quarters it cannot be done.

What about Channel 10 coverage -

No Teamsong after the game - hoe many adds to they squeeze in when we shuld have been seeing the players rejoicing - no Interviews with Roos - no post game analysis - no press conference.

Bloody awful  - I'm now going to watch it on Foxtel and fill in the missing parts
