Interesting to note, of the four Golden Boys of the 90s/00s - Hird, Voss, Bucks, Harvey - the Saints are only club to have not made theirs coach. And, all the others have been abject failures.

Like all Saints supporters, I am an unashamed R Harvey fanboy. In a way, I wouldn't want him to coach us and sour the 'relationship' when he will probably get sacked/lose games/preside over the team when facourite players leave, such is the fate of most coaches in the AFL.

Hird and Buckley were more the clubs thinking with their hearts rather than their heads and were made senior coaches too soon. I think Voss was ****ed over a bit and could still be a decent coach and Harves could make a good senior coach or maybe not who knows.

Spot on. Was always the reason I didn't want him to coach the Saints right away. In the future, maybe.

Harvey is the only one to do a proper apprenticeship. He has earned the right to coach.
