It's better than braindance.Intelligent Dance Music is the worst name
No matter how much you think you dislike and always talk negatively about a certain artists music, has anyone ever changed their mind after giving them a listen or another listen to actually really enjoy it and admit it?
I seem to be doing it a bit lately.
Is Braindead thus the EDM to IDM?It's better than braindance.

Didn't like Eddy Current Suppression Ring at all when I first heard them, but was converted after seeing them live.

* Not sure I actually believe that, but rhyming is just so fun!
We have the General metal thread but no General Music Thread.
I just discovered this band when I was buying CD's (yeah I know) the other day.
From Brisbane and awesome. I think Leaping Lindner might be a fan.
So post away....
Seriously impressed by the HITS stuff, they were unknown to me until your post. Did the old you tube tour and didnt see/hear a single weak track.
Im in the UK so will do some digging around for the cd's (not really a download sorta guy, must be my age), but will download their stuff if its the only way to here them.
Gerling was another band new to me, liked their indie style stuff, but not a dance music lover, so their dancy stuff was not for me.

I'm in Sydney but whenever I'm in Melbourne I go to Collecters Corner/Missing Link Records and a kiwi fella there suggests some stuff I may not have heard of. Gave me HITS two weeks ago.
I still haven't had a chance to thank him...
Maybe try their website if they have one or I did see the band are on facebox but I'm not so don't know if they do sales that way.
Try www.recordcollectorscorner.com.au or Red Eye Records in Sydney.
ECSR singers other band Total Control are pretty good too.
Sorry, yeah I meant Mikey. I like Fabulous Diamonds, wasn't aware he was involved though. I thought they were a two piece like Naked On The Vague. It's the guitarist Mikey not the singer who is Brendan.
Mikey has a few projects worth checking out ECSR, Total Control, Fabulous Diamonds and The Ooga Boogas that I know of. He is a sought out producer as well.

I'll have to check out The Ooga Boogas though.
I thought this was going to be talking about music theory and songwriting and performing![]()
I just assumed that it wasn'tWhy can't it be?
I just assumed that it wasn'tAnd anyway I have nothing to start that discussion at the moment.
I hated performing. Only did it few times. I admire people who can do it nearly night after nightI thought this was going to be talking about music theory and songwriting and performing![]()
You either hate it first up, love it first up, or love it first up but are really nervous/scared. I fit into the last category.I hated performing. Only did it few times. I admire people who can do it nearly night after night
Yeah I would be in the nervous category. I don't think I made eye contact the whole time with anyone. Oddly enough although their wasn't much, what I hated was the applause and compliments. Even a subtle clap made me uncomfortable. Then the last time we played was opening for a couple of local run of the mill pop-punk bands in a town hall. Knowing the crowd would hate our "music", I found it much better. The booing took away the pressure. You either hate it first up, love it first up, or love it first up but are really nervous/scared. I'm one of those guys that is super shy but if I get on stage I loosen up a bit. I don't go crazy, but that's just because I'm naturally not like that. You can tell those guys that just go crazy because they feel they have to, not because they want to, and it doesn't look good.
It also helps when you actually know how to play your instrument. As opposed to me playing for 3 different bands in my first gig, 2 songs each, after I'd only been playing for 6 months. My band I knew all the songs obviously, another band I learnt the songs 5 hours before I went on, the last band I learnt the songs 10 minutes before I went on...![]()
