They don't include Hinge or Keays in that team

They just present the six key players at each line. So presumably they see Keays and Hinge as starting on the bench. They did mention them later on (when talking about us getting value for late picks).

Having Peatling listed as a forward is probably an error, though. Should just have listed Keays there and put Peatling in place of someone in the midfield.

Interestingly, on their board when they brought in NAS, they replaced Soligo. Not sure that's what would happen in practice!

I assume NWM would replace Berry if we did get him, and the midfield rotation would become Dawson, NWM, Peatling and Soligo with pinch hitting from Rankine and Curtin. Draper might put some pressure on Peatling/Soligo though. Would be pretty stacked, honestly.

Could potentially see Dawson play more forward/back if we had all those options, I think Soligo is more of a pure mid and would always have time in there.

It does reinforce that we have actually had some long term planning around this build and it can be sustained for multiple flag attempts.
And the consensus last year was the recruitment dept needed to be sacked (plus all the Coaches) .....a complete fail of a rebuild according to George

But you mention an important point .....this build "hopefully" is a 10-year generation of contention .....by "hopeful" I mean I hope we don't keep adding 28/29 YO players via recruitment ....certainly not at this juncture of the list profile

I'm not sure an Archee adds anything, other than holding back a kid

Recruitment v draft is a balancing act. We have a lot of players who need games, correct. But we need to combat that with having enough experience. I think Achee is a good get. Is he an upgrade on several players on our list? definitely and all those players he is an upgrade on cant be just replaced in a single draft.

My concern was never talent related, mine was always a concern over coaching and whether those coaches might end up wasting this list.

Also on Archee, if we can get him then I have no issue with it, particularly as Walker is 50/50 with regards to playing on next year.

same here.
My concern was that our drafting was terrible for years. I’m still not sold on Hamish. He’s had some recent hits (TT, Soligo, Worrell, Rachele, Curtin), but all up I’d say for eg the Cats have done as well or better with much less draft capital (SDK, Holmes, Dempsey, OSullivan, Miers).

I think Reid has been pretty good for years. We’ve kept all our required players and got in a lot of really good players.

Who is Archee going to replace, who is already a best 22 player ?

Mmmm? ....Archee is listed as 182 cm ....is he really a Tex replacement ?

You don't think Cook / Turray are better prospects ? .....just fact in for Cook the age factor + another PS

Coaching is interesting .....my view has always been, is the Coach maximising the list at his disposal
Now Goody has been sacked, despite winning a Flag 5 years ago .....clearly he wasn't maximising his list
I think everyone agrees Macrae is a good coach, with a mature side .....so losing 4 of 5, does that change perceptions .....as always there'll be COLL supporters who will believe so

Walker is currently playing as a third tall forward. 182cm is fine for that role. What we need is someone who can take a mark, kick a goal, and have some impact further up the ground.

I hold out no hope whatsoever for Cook. Turray is still a maybe, and honestly, a long-shot maybe.

Ah Chee will be 28 next year. Should get 5+ more years out of him, that's plenty. We're at the "replace the outgoing players/upgrade the depth players" stage of our build rather than needing to inject loads of youth into our list. We already have plenty of quality youth on our list that can't get a game at the moment. What we need is to bring in class that can impact.
