Is Meek showing any more than Fort currently? Obviously he's younger but we have developing rucks on the list now so the next couple of years is the gap that needs to be covered.

There is a strong assumption Stanley will be gone. Forty is contracted but is nota prefered selection ...and at his age , thats not good. Even if Fort and Meek were or equal standard now, the age and upside of what he may give for the couple of years is worth a trade. Sav look like he is our prefered choice but has been shown to be fragile at times. We need a youngish player. To add to that the size and style of Meek look more of a big body type.

Obviosuly he is not the only options but I do think we need to add gap filler. It will be years before any of the young talls on our list can be handed the #1 ruck role.

Cats are all over Cerra. The Darcy thing is largely media speculation off the back of a comment made by someone in WA media (I think it was Sumich). Darcy is not going anywhere ...... Cerra on the other hand wants out and headed back to Vic.

As for Clark - he'll be gone at the end of the year. As will Narkle.

Its more about where would Cerra , Clark and Narkle pick to play. Id be surprised if it all neatly fell together.

Clark is contracted so therefore will command a higher price than he would otherwise. They currently have pick 10 in this years draft. That should do it.

Id be amazed if they offered P10. If Cerra goes to Richmond...we might end up with our R1 back. Will be fascinating for sure, overall one has to be very careful about draft interstate players who may take time to get games. I hope we nail down Neale to a contract extension asap.

What's currently stopping Kreuger getting games? Love him on paper, reminded me of an inconsistent Naughton at times in his draft year, but obviously must be missing something if he's not getting games still.

Missed the first chunk of the VFL season through injury. Only came back the game before lock-down (I think?) and impressed. Plus, being switched to defence means he's on a bit of a learning curve.

Looking forward to seeing him string a few more of those games together and maybe push for senior selection... though I can really only seeing him maybe take Kolo's spot.

His biggest issue across his 3 seasons at Geelong has been repeated knee injuries & he also battled concussion in his first season

He's struggled for continuity of games at VFL level which in turn has impacted his opportunities at senior level - he'll have a good match in the VFL, be asked to back it up the next week & get injured

He was going ok in the VFL practice matches this year, then missed the start of the season with a knee injury - he returned for round 6 where he looked real solid down back and then the covid VFL break hit which has interrupted the chance for continuity. Hopefully with the VFL returning this week we'll see him back up what he showed before the break and maybe he'll get a chance in the back half the season to make his senior debut

The last two years has been bad for developing players. He has been recently been playing back..not something he has done a lot of.

Does anybody know what’s wrong with Clarke? Hasn’t come on, hasn’t bulked up, not up to it?

Clark's lack of bulk on the upper body may have been hampered by the elbow injury in his first season and then the shoulder dislocation last year

Not sure what sort of program he's been on during the off-season in terms of things like gym and preparing for the next season versus recovery from the previous one

Merrett re-signing is good news. Was this years Crouch. B grade mid that you would have to pay A grade money for.
If you think Merrett is a b grade mid you need to re-access the way you watch and understand the game
Would walk into our midfield, go past everyone except Danger.
A gun with plenty of praise from AFL players, including our very own

What does he do that's so good? I've always seen him as the kind of player that you never really need to put much time into because he won't hurt you with many of his touches. Am I missing something everyone else can see?

We will ask for that and they will say no as they should and he will probably stay. Hes not worth p10 on the market.
