Scrimshaw looks like one who has adapted to a new club and is better for it, generally I agree. Wary is a good word.

Ainsworth 65 game in 4 and half years ..I dont think he is like Brodie for example, who from the same draft has only played 23 games.
Ainsworth looked like a future star in his first couple of years, i wish we had i use to think don't know whats happen with him

pretty sure the entire cats board on big footy and fans in general who follow the draft we’re melting when we picked CS over Robertson. Sometimes if is obvious if the club gets it wrong.

Im pretty sure if we looked ... back in the draft thread ...there was a lot of noise for Robertson at both picks..and when we went for Sdek , most were unhappy. Would we trade Sdek for Robertson I wonder?

I think the GC side would wear a lot of players down. Rowel this year after two bad injuries is looking tired. 65 games in 4 and half years. He is not even thru his development stage. I doubt he is traded, he is still contracted.

Richmond supporter ... Says it all.

Dead from the neck up..

Where is the ..lowest score since 1961 article.

The article is built around idea of losing Narkle and Clark. Atm i would say very few unaligned observers would say that our future is all about those two. My bet is he would have no idea who we drafted last year for eg.

He hasn't got any idea full stop..

Brad Johnson stipulating that Charlie constable should explore trade options as he is AFL ready. Didn’t he do that last year? No club wanted him…
Cats to lose constable, Narkle & Clark? And then Smith , Higgins, Selwood etc retire. Gonna be fun..
O we really want players on our list that aren't willing to knuckle down and fight for a spot in the team?

I'd say no.

I suppose players last year like Narkle and Constable it was hard to explore a trade as list sizes no one knew of how many players were a team allowed, not saying that's the whole reason, but it wouldn't of helped

I'd be quite keen on Ainsworth. In and out of GC side according to the article, and from a country area (Morwell) so ticks a box for what we usually go for there.

Always thought he was a solid player when I've seen him play. Shades of a young Dahlhaus for mine and nice to get a player in with a long way to go in his career

I really like ainsworth as a player but small forward/hff is a position we dont lack depth in i wouldnt overpay for him.

If our game thursday night plus the weekend has shown me anything its the value of a quality ruckman and how desperately we need one. Thats what we should trade for.

De Koening as well. That kid has so much talent. Blessed with more skill than a 200cm player should have however there is an intensity issue. Does he want it. Is that something that’s just a confidence thing or is it just him. People said the same thing about Naughton. They also said the same things about Josh Schache.

Also heard that Cats are making a play for the next Crouch after missing Brad last year who I’m told was happy to come. Ironically a commitment to Higgins blew that up.

Brad wanted too much money which is why we told him no and he went to st kilda instead. Higgins is on much cheaper wages most of which north are paying for us. Unless matt wants to come on unders then im not interested..we also dont need another inside mid.

Is it worth trying to get a ruck? As wouldn't CS play one anyway 🤷‍♂️ Should be giving Fort a month of games like we did to Esava to at least show what his got.
But by all means Fort is no Grundy or Darcy Nic Nat, but the poor bugger can't show what he can do if he don't get a game.... 🤷‍♂️

Disagree. Dahl, Higgins and Close are crap. Evans and Miers and the only real small forwards on a list and even then Evans plays taller rather than smaller.

In what world is Close crap?
He's a small forward. Their job Is to kick goals consistently.

I wouldn't say he's crap but Miers is a better option.

And they won't drop Dahlhaus or Higgins.

We are screaming out for a pure small forward.

Pressure forward with the tackling to go with it along with a goal and assist a game then it's CLOSE
Run 15kms up and down the wing defending space and chip in with a goal & assist a game then it's MIERS
Both bring you a different look. Which IMO, both are needed.
As for pure small forwards they are like Good Ruckmen... they are few and far between.

It really isn't.

Miers every day of the week.

I'd have Evans before Close.

Pretty sure Constable looked at his options 2 trade periods ago - that's when he was linked to St Kilda but nothing happened

Last year he again explored his options, Geelong was open to him exploring his options and said they'd help facilitate a trade should a suitable trade be presented

I can't remember reading one media report or suggestion of a team showing genuine interest in Constable to the point there was trade discussions - though, someone on FB this past week said that there interest and Geelong refused to deal. That's something I find hard to believe especially after supporting him to look at his options, and that we've shown we're happy to facilitate trades for fringe players & Constable definitely falls into that fringe category

HI there, there's some Narkle discussion on our RFC board. What's his best position? Why can't he get a regular gig at Geelong? thanks

Inside mid playing in the guts, and he has a nice step that we occasionally see

He's not necessarily someone you'd play on the outside - after losing Duncan last weekend, there was an article during the week looking at his potential replacements in Higgins & Narkle and how both are vastly inferior in terms of kicking efficiency & retention
