TB might be the type that slips into our pick range. If he has the Combine type data we like , it would not surprise if we look at him ..even if he is not technically a FSon.
Interesting. I suspect performance is relevant to several inputs, and its probably different in different sports. What works in individual sports probably needs adjustment in team sports. Humble talent is probably a good start. Someone that comes in , swinging his sweng because he has been a gun all his life may work or may blow up. It depends on the player. How did Selwood come into the group in 07. Id could only imagine if Rowell was coming into our system how the expectations and pressure would be different, for good or bad. He seems like a ripper but not every talent kid benefits by that expectation. Then again... what is the right way to go for a kid like JUH. It seems he might not like being just one on the list

Good point PO, I admit I wasn't considering our future picks, only this years. It is genuinely difficult decision, a lot may depend upon the availability of merrett, or do the cats make the draft the priority over Darcy.
First line in the recruitment plan. Who wants to come to us. Then who do we want... and then how do we get it done.
First. A big hello to Darcy ..and find out if he wants to move.
If he does then it may or may not get done. It took Ablett 12 months to get back.
but I doubt a trade for Darcy will be purely about picks.
Just read that article again. It mentioned knees. I cant remember him strongly. Funny how you can get blanks on some players and other one remembers strongly.
Reading a description by Ed Pascoe from Draftcentral. ..he sounds a promising kid.

Paul could play back and forward and was used at both ends of the ground. He could take a big mark too.

We won't have the picks/players to get it done but my wish list is for Darcy and one of Merrett/Parish.
Word I've heard is that Selwood wants one more year. I don't think we worry about midfield FA until the end of next year. Get games into Narkle, Holmes, Clark and hopefully Stephens next year.

Would love nothing more than JSEL to be the all time games record holder for GFC and make it very hard to better.
reading this ... the report of the fall of Roman Collingwood empire... the part the I found interesting was.... the players wanting Beams. I wonder if tehy were asked to pay for him with a cut in their contracts..
It sort of reminds us that the cap is just as important as the picks you give up. I only hope we have it all neat and tidy.

Probably a smart way to go..when players are not getting games... however we do tend to go early if a player pops and say I want in. If Hopper said..yes.. would we say... no?
If we do the dance ..does JS say enough ..or does he want another year no matter what? If we were more like Haw... we would tell him that we love him but go and play two years at Gold Coast. We cant do that..if he wants to play.. then I cant see us saying no
In the end Ling knew the way to do it.

Narkle and Shai Bolton both delaying talks to end of year. Hmmm maybe both go to Perth?
Three way trade .. Freo get both the players, Rich get Cerra and icing ... and geelong get a couple of pots at the Cricketers Arms
Merrit and Parrish look happy to stay. Darcy is contracted and has not given any hint that he may want out

Yes I understand that but if he gets another season in I don’t think in our time we’ll see a GFC player beat that
Its a result of having an era when he has played so many finals..so probably never again
