I wouldn't have been upset if Kolodjashnij looked at his FA options, but I'm also not surprised that he's been re-signed especially as it's well documented that Scarlett views him as a weekly first choice selection

And in regards to Atkins - at the end of last season he's spot on the list looked in question especially as he had lost his spot in the 22, but this year he looks refreshed as a small defender and a different player to what we saw across his first 2 seasons. So not really surprising to see him signed & elevated to the senior list

That means atkins id definitely getting a senior list elevation (you cant do more than 3 years on the rookie list) so thats one senior list spot to clear.

Hes a rookie now (as is close and hendo) but he will be on the senior list next year.

Meh. Even then I'd rather the Hawks not trade him so that they don't have access to an additional first rounder.

And I agree he's overrated however he's still a decent player. Better than some of the players currently getting games in the Tigers midfield.

O'Connor isn't going to be a super star player in the midfield... he is good, but not the next something level..

Richmond base their whole game on all ground defensive pressure they arent going to bring in someone who makes them slower in that regard like mitchell imo. I have little doubt the hawks will try to shop him though.

If he goes to Richmond he'll be not on an afl list in 3 years imo..would be a stupid career move. I know he likes shai but he can hang out with shai every weekend if he plays for any melb based club..he needs to think of his career. He needs to stay and fight to be best 22 with us which i think he can or find a club than can give him a clear best 22 spot which richmond cant. I hope we keep him but its not panic stations if we dont.

Yeah for sure, unless they both want to go home and play for freo. Richmond gets Cerra in the exchange and we give him up as part of a wider trade for Darcy.

Plus he missed the last year of the under 18s so we are now practically at 3 years without playing. Makes Cockatoo look like Zach Tuohy in the durability stakes.

He played a full year in 2020. We just couldn't watch it.

meh, they still carry players like Martin who brings precisely none of that defensive pressure.

I'm sceptical of the idea that there is no way they could effectively integrate Mitchell in to their system.

Yeah a year ago I'd have said he'd be going to west coast but looking at their age profile they rely on older players almost as much as us.
Start of the year I changed my mind to Freo as he'd be joining a promising young group of kids that he could develop with but they're maybe further off than I thought.

If I'm Clark I'm waiting it out at the cats one more year at least unless either club comes with a silly money offer. He'll get a good enough contract offer from us next year that even if he does ask for a trade it'll put a floor under his dollar bargaining value.
