Three way deal?
I think that’s a reasonable return for Clark but I’d think Freo would want more than Clark for Cerra. Clark has potential but Cerra is already a very good player. No one mentions what they will be preparedf to do to get the deal done... Personally I think Rich go for Cerra and we may end up with our R1 back

Clark will get games soon as we will have to rest a few old boys in second half of the seasonI was foretelling... Rich get 2r1 picks for cerrs, perhaps a r2 back to Rich. Then one of the R1's for Clark. ... but unless we get Clark back into the side soon , he will not get even a late r1

The landscape has changed a lot since we built our premiership teams. I find it really strange that so many on here bemoan the clubs recent recruiting strategy. Yes we have fallen short of another flag but we’ve come close and we have a chance again this year.
It’s wrong to say the club won’t pursue with players in the side who are young. We’ve seen the development of Close, Miers, O’Connor, Henry, Parfitt, Esava, kolo, Atkins while young and developing in the team.
Narkle is unlucky he played a couple of good games and I hope he can find his way back into the team. But Clark needs to perform if he wants to take a spot in a top 4 team. If he wants to go back to Freo and be forgotten about playing for an irrelevant club all power to him enjoy the waves.
Hands off Mundy!

Clark is contracted - they will have to pay a premiumFreo wont trade a R1 for clark..maybe if we added something with clark they might.
Meek and a future 2nd is probably what we get for clark and i could live with it (reluctantly).

Both players get exposed defensively, albeit in different ways. Clark was meant to be a running half back when he arrived but we quickly found he couldn’t defend and was exposed. We moved him to a wing but he doesn’t do enough to hold out players of the caliber of Duncan, Menegola and Smith. Narkle has a nice don’t argue but is absolutely putrid on the transition and defensively at stoppages. He doesn’t kick goals and doesn’t hurt with his disposals.Clark and Narkle are extremely overrated here. They are basically Taylor Hunt and Darcy Lang as far as I am concerned.
Especially Clark who can run but is a poor decision maker and clanger king. He’s still too physically weak to play AFL in what his 3rd season? About all he’s good for is a half dozen Joe the Goose’s over the course of a season. A 2nd rounder is generous.
We seem to have a bit of trouble recently with getting our younger mids to get fit enough. Other than Parfitt and O’Connor they seem to not be able to run out games or transition well enough. Both players get exposed defensively, albeit in different ways. In the modern game if you can’t defend you better make up for it with hurting the opposition on attack. Neither of these guys does that enough.
It’s no coincidence that for both of these players work ethic has been questioned. You really can’t have this as a deficiency unless you are exceptionally talented. Even then it is hard in the modern game.We seem to have a bit of trouble recently with getting our younger mids to get fit enough. Training issue with our trainers or coaches?
Problem with getting players outside the elite early first round in the draft?
Or attitude problem with the players?
If your full time job is to be an athlete I don’t think there is much excuse to not be really fit.

I don’t think they’re particularly good or bad. Just not good enough to excuse his limitations.I don't have a problem with most of what you say about Narkle except with regard to his disposals. I think his disposals are generally very good and his skills are excellent.
Maybe we need a new assistant coach or trainer that can whip a few into line. Someone like Brendan McCartney or Mark Williams. It’s no coincidence that for both of these players work ethic has been questioned. Cats are all over Cerra. The Darcy thing is largely media speculation off the back of a comment made by someone in WA media (I think it was Sumich). Darcy is not going anywhere ...... Cerra on the other hand wants out and headed back to Vic.
As for Clark - he'll be gone at the end of the year. As will Narkle.
More stuff from Sumich...

I’ve been a fan of his work except grand finals week 2007. Seems to get the best out of players.Gees he has gone from zero to hero...couldn't get a job anywhere not long ago.
