LoL north asking more than ports first this year and next ...

Ok....but lol.

Pick 8 & a pick that most likely will be 10+ & say a prospect like Sinn or Bergman with North sending a 2nd round pick back doesn’t seem crazy to me especially when you factor in that what Port are going to pay him.

Issue is going to be that all of their young prospects are contracted and will be hard to find one that will agree to go to North.

If he says Geelong, then he'll get here...I think its as simple ss that.
AFL.com saying GAJ has sung Bowes' praises to GFC. The two played in the same team in 2017. Not sure if he has spoken to Bowes, but wouldn't you think Bowes might reach out to GAJ and ask him for his thoughts

Just had a glance at the Essendon trading page.

Apparently they’re into Bowes and any extra (pick7) will just be a bonus whereas we just want pick 7 and bowes will be a hinderance…

In addition to that, their upper hand is that if he talks to 2MP and saad they’ll tell him how Essendon can make you a better player post GC whereas if he talks to Zac Smith he’ll tell them that Geelong will not make him any better.

No brainer for him based on all that.
Here we have further proof that long term drug use can really harm you.

Do some research. Perhaps start by listening to what Dangerfield and Mackie have said. Bowes has been on Geelong's radar all season ....... well before Pick 7 was even floated.

Crawl back under your rock.

I read AWOL's post as being sarcastic.

Has anyone explained what the connection is between Bowes and Danger? I am curious why he would take an interest in a player from Cairns. Is Bowes into fishing?

They've got more problems to deal with, closer to home.
That's why they've just appointed an ex-NAB CEO who had to resign after the Royal Commission said the NAB under his watch were crooks.

Opposition coaches will no doubt analyse and utterly dissect our 2022 game plan, to evolve theirs for 2023.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up. Even more so, how we evolve ours and how / where the Henry's, Bowes etc assist it.
If any AFL coach can rejig his team's game plan with effect to stay ahead of the 'hunters' it is Chris Scott.

Luckily, he's now come into an organisation as straight and honest as the AFL to redeem himself.

It gets worse. Thorburn is also the chair of City On A Hill - a fundamentalist church which preaches anti homosexuality and abortion doctrines...

Both managed by Connors Sports

I mean, you should reply with;
Isaac Smith - 0 Norm Smiths at Hawthorn, 1 at Geelong ;)

I'm sure Scott will relish the challenge - he's reached the pinnacle through a changed game plan and innovative player management.
Looking forward to further strategic changes as he'll want to stay ahead of the pack and challenge again - I'm sure he won't die wondering :thumbsu:

Tbh based on his highlight package I'm more excited about what he could do than either of Henry or Bruhn

At his age... he is the one who may affect us the most in 2023...

cause looking at our ins..most are not about 2023 ...which is fine. and several of the clubs we beat are adding 2023 talent.

Bowe at his best might be our best pnp mid since Danger.

Thorburn is a very good operator but has largely gone underground since the NAB's sins were revealed at the Royal Commission. He's probably a good appointment for the club as he leads very strongly from a culture and team perspective. That said, I'm not sure enough water has gone under the bridge, and a few of these other revelations (which I was not across) will possibly mean the club is under some pressure to provide further justification around the decision.

Not a perfect comparison, but not too far removed from the pressure on Geelong when James Sutherland was being considered for senior positions. I thought Sutherland copped a bigger whack publicly than what he deserved, but it still cost him some gigs he may have otherwise have got. At one stage was seen as a potential AFL CEO. Currently CEO for golf Australia I believe and unfairly maligned by many I think.

Thorburn's appointment will have a few people hot under the collar I think.

AS they alwasy do .... I would suggest the unusual adavatge the Blitz gives will be hard to replicate. I have only one certainty... I doubt that geelong will become like a plate of Western Star Melbourne Butter in the heat of being the looked at team. They have been going at us for years.

Would just about guarantee pick 7 alone would be enough. TDK is much loved but on output not worth a large price tag for Carlton. Huge athletic talent but I think Carltons cap would be better served elsewhere with a Soldo or Meek level ruck in his place who may be more limited but supply enough to our midfield that it doesn't matter.

Well if thats the case .... who knows. We have tried to trade him before but probably not with pick this early.

Boooo...thought it would be today, but guess not. We continue to wait, haha

He said maybe a (decision from bowes) tomorrow but more likely wed morning. Hasnt formally nominated a club yet.
