This Chris Doerre fellow has been doing this for a long time, you would think he would have been snapped up by a club by now. Much like Emma Quayle was by the Giants.
Also does anyone else find it amusing that he refers to Phillipou as the son of Sam. I had to google who Sam Phillipou was, 3 game player for Footscray in 1995. Hardly worth mentioning, I can't imagine there would be too many that remember him.
I think he was known in SA.

When is Twomey's phantom generally released?

Usually one or two days before the draft..the longer he waits the easier it is for him to get intel and get the calls right

I'm really intrigued by Phillipou, I haven't seen enough to confidently make a call about him but there's a lot to like. What I've seen makes me think he could be a star.

I am convinced he will be. Has the same type of drive and determination to be great as Joel did. Added to this his athleticism, size, power, speed endurance combination is uber elite. Played a lot of basketball and is the youngest kid in this draft. Just don't understand how he isn't way way above the likes of Clark. On Joel I just don't understand our seeming obsession with Clark. People who think they are in any way comparable athletically are kidding themselves. This kid is no where near the gun junior runner Joel was. Joels athletic and skill brilliance were overshadowed by his unparalleled mental strength, courage and determination to be great but he was a superior athlete. Clark will be a good player but he is an below average or average athlete for a mid. Just don't see him being able to carry Joel's boots. He will be a high quality 200 game player but Joel or anything like it he ain't

High quality 200 gamer? Where do we sign!!!

Dont mind his top 20.
Id be happy with clark.

Do rate ryan but id want a tall with our 2nd pick in that mock id go lemmey or broadbent or verrall (unless we take foster or northam).
We are not taking 4 picks (2 or 3 if we delist simpson) so we will either take clohesy with our 2nd/3rd pick (if we think someone will take him late in the ND) or gamble he gets through ND and we take him as a cat b.

My immediate thoughts when we add Chlosey as well... a lot of young mids on our list. We need to add someone ..whether its Leemey or another wellisan pick I'm willing to flow with it

Whats this kid like Vdubs

Clay Tucker
State: Victoria Metro
State League Club: Eastern Ranges
Community Club: Rowville
Date of Birth: 09/08/04; Height: 204cm; Weight: 99kg

Developing young ruckman still honing his craft. Averaged 20 hitouts and eight disposals across 11 matches for the Eastern Ranges in the NAB League this year under the guidance of former AFL star and progressive coach Travis Cloke.

Is this

Jovan Petric
State: Victoria Metro
State League Club: Western Jets
Community Club: Keilor
Date of Birth: 17/04/04; Height: 196kg; Weight: 87kg

Tall forward who is strong overhead and mobile. Proved to be a good target for Victoria Metro and played all four games at this year’s Championships. Had an outstanding year for the Western Jets in the NAB League, kicking 26 goals in 15 matches. He also averaged 11 possessions and three marks per game. His time of 6:42 seconds for the 2km time at the Victorian 2022 NAB AFL State Draft Combine was impressive for a player of his size.

the same kid as this in 2011 ?

Yeah im the same..i have said it before in recent weeks that i worry about the no of 30 + talls we have and im not convinced neale will stay long term. So yes i know we have ageing mids to replace but with bruhn and bowes in as mids plus p7 (if its a mid) and clohesy (admittedly i rate ted more than some draft watchers) i feel we have enough mids for now (esp since we drafted 3-4 mids last year) id like to see our late/rookie picks this year used on a couple of project kpp at both ends.

Watching highlights of Leemey ..he played back and forward .... and at times forward he too made space and got on the end of open ball but I like his package just as much ..if not more...and his height gives him another attribute. His setshot kicking looks more robust. He reads the ball well in the air...although not sure on his high end athletic ability.

Overall Im not sure why he has dropped away so much.

Have a few mates in the senior coaching ranks at Westies. They said he wasn’t even competitive at SANFL U18 level this year, and that is a very low standard of footy.

I’ve seen some pundits say he struggled because he was thrown around too much. The reverse is probably closer to the truth, i.e. he was thrown around because he was struggling.

For contract purposes otherwise hed be gone altogether
Hes a ripping human being but hes never been the same player after all the injuries.
We did well to turn him into neale (so long as we can keep neale from going home).
Rare Wells L with nakia 😥 imagine if we had lever and SDK in the squad

He's put on so much bulk over the past couple of years that what made him special in his draft year is now gone, he doesn't have the speed or explosiveness anymore, he's a bonified tackler now, nothing more

Mitch Brown... Dan Menzel... Nakia Cockatoo... you might even make a case for Jackson Thurlow.

We either have seriously bad luck with FRPs and injuries, or we've taken gambles to unearth a few more "Selwoods" (i.e. players who had early injuries that didn't turn out to have an impact on their career).

Think Menzel had done an ACL prior to drafting - but hard to know in advance it was going to get that bad. Did Mitch break his leg first year with us or year prior to being drafted?

I don’t think you can count Menzel as a draft failure. Clearly the talent was there and he played plenty of great games. Brown and Cockatoo on afl lists for a long time show that they both had the talent.

He lost something with the injuries... ...shows how close success lives next to failure.
