Yes but if we go 7 into 2 lower picks then we cant use 50 (58 after bidding) so we would need to swap it for a future or waste it.
Hence why IF we trade 7 a teens pick and a future pick is more realistic.
7&58 for 14&17 no wastage.

I think all hes getting at is hes guaranteed to be on a list because we have guaranteed to rookie him if he gets through the ND.
As I said, we'll wait and see what happens. You might be right, but at this point, it's just pure speculation.

Wonder of SKing's son would be interested in us.

Only 17yo. That's the bonus with him, still developing and growing, but all who know him and have seen him live can see the Potential. Yes, I liken him a lot to DeK.

You like you eastern fellas ... and thats fine. We all have players that we have liked and been right about and other that have not worked out. Id think in a strong draft he would be R2 but so what ..opinions are worth about as much as a used tissue. To me without his height ...players like weddle are superior... even the Falcon kid Murdcoh can clunk them. BUT ..just like with Kneviit... one can not train in height... Trying to visualise what they will be in 3-4 years is the whole ball of wax.

if I were to guess I think we are probably more likely that Allan is picked before Hayes and he is a real bolter. Ou pick 7/8 is right on the bubble I feel ... once it gets into double figures they may not be much between 20 of them.

In my opinion ...eventually the Father Son pick will be put down like a lame horse. It will not sustain itself into the AFLW era.

but till it does, Id be happy to remove all discount on the first two rounds. It seems a lot of clubs on choose to take the Father Sons if they are guns. Player like Riccardi are rarer. How did Dunkley get to the Dogs for example.

Plenty of players have ended badly with their clubs and have found away to butter the burn to see the FSon taken. I think of Libba for one.

Of course I do not know where he is playing Is SKing a coach in Qld ? If he is up there , he is probably in an academy.

So... Is Ed Allan of 2022 the Max Holmes of 2020 ??
Same sample size in performances. 4-5 games.
Same height/weight?
Allan 194cm Holmes 190cm.
Allan 82kgs Holmes 75kgs(now 80kgs?)
Both quick. Both have tanks. Both have versatility. Athletic traits they both have in spades.
Rawness was Holmes knock, same can be said about Allan.
Contested game was the knock on Holmes. Boy has that changed in 2 years. Same knock on Allan.
Is he worthy of a pick 7?
No? Would he be worthy of a pick 10 or Pick 13 if we trade back?
If he becomes Holmes Mark2 does it really matter ?
Food for thought.

He could easily be taken next pick after us by WC ..probably depends on who they feel is interest in him. As it stands they probably would not both trading with us for one spot...unless the really believe we will take him.

7<>12 and Fr2? Id not mind consider that if Clark is gone ... good chance both WS pick are WA kids...

Sydney wont do it unless humphrey is there but i like it
I don’t like it

There’s a chance the first pick currently 14 might end up at 16 even

Even bigger chance the second pick gets pushed back and depends on when a Davey bud comes in

Could end up being 8 and 40 odd “with selections coming in” for 16 and 18/19

No thanks

Cal Twomey did his latest rating and info.

Had us linked specifically to Tsatas, Clark, Ginbey, Allan, MacKenzie & Humphrey. The only ones in that “group” not linked were Busslinger, Phillipou and Hollands.

I’d say the cats will make a bit of noise this week. Nothing to lose trying to throw a few furphies out there to get the player we actually want. It would also be awesome to lure WCE or StK into sliding up 1 or two picks to grab say an Allan, Humphrey or Ginbey in return for an extra 2nd round pick next year like Port did with Sinn last year and still getting a player we want.

I worry next year given I really think we will turnover 8-10 players
And to throw another in the Age has us linked to Clark or if he’s gone Allan or Busslinger.

I would take 17 I think… Swans Pick would be 30-34 ish.
Its was not about swans pick in the 30's. it was more a comparison of swans 14 and 17 ... and wc 12 and Fr2

Id take WC pick 12 and their Fr2... who knows ..if Holland was there at 12 the Suns might come knocking.
