Cutting the bone, moving it sideways to take pressure off the inside of the foot, then screwing it back into its new place.

Moving it up to a centimetre can give greater support to the navicular and supporting ligaments.

For those more severe injuries, you may also need a cone shaped screw on the sinus tarsi side, to limit the outward splaying of the foot in an eversion occurrence.

This is why I think his career is at a significant cross road. Not many come back to peak strength and fitness from such an injury. The muscle wastage and impact to the tib post tendon, mainly its function through scar tissue, means recovery of muscle tissue lost in the calf is nearly impossible.
That is some really good insight. Thanks. Hope it goes well obviously

I unfortunately had to go back twice further within the space of 12 months. One to correct the earlier surgery, which didn’t go to a full foot restructure, then when the cast came off we found a melanoma had popped up, which meant a further 12 weeks in a moon boot.

If he recovers well, it will be a miracle. Glad to see it happen if he makes a full recovery. Stack is well up against him to be honest.

Would Ted Clohesy be a solid option if he was to follow Steven King across??

I think he's got potential to be a very good player and he doesn't seem like he'll get a look in here. Like a less classy, more contested Riley West. I'd hate to lose him but love to see him be a 150 gamer.

I expect he'd have played a lot more games for us if we didn't have such a charmed injury run

Who cares about Marshall. We won’t spend big on a ruck.. Brisbane and Geelong have very average rucks and both obviously in the GF. We just need a tap ruck man and spend more on a mid bull.
Seriously we got smashed in the rick on the weekend Bris had two ruckman!

Feel free to do it, put up next years lions best 23 and find the Cats who would walk into the team.
I did it as unemotional as I could, and I did it with a neutral. We got the 6 I listed with 3 or 4 "maybes".
It's not saying the Cats are bad or anything, but pragmatically they have depth the rest of the comp would die for and a whole heap of really young elite players.

I agree.

I actually think our overall team is better but a big deficiency in midfield where they are stacked.

We belted them in our first final and got belted ourselves in the Granny. Our problem was clearance dominance once Neale came on and we struggled to hit up targets coming forward with Cameron having a broken arm.

Iv said before, and your spot on

The more midfielders you have in your team eg dual Positions the better the team you have. Brisbane have about 9 players that can go in and out of the midfield where we really only have 5. And 2 of them are 35 years old

Given the Saints B&F was last night, if we don’t hear anything in the next few days from Marshall, would that put people off from chasing him further?
I'd say there's a bit playing out behind the scenes but we'll soon find out I guess.

Marshall finished 6th in the Saints B&F so I don't think Geelong's desire to trade him in will have changed.

Our overall team is clearly not better, but we are great at extracting maximum from our list, until the GF.
We have many B graders, Lions have many A graders.
Jaspa Fletcher would walk into our team as # 1 or 2 mid, and he's about 9 at Brisbane.
Then their age profile is great as well.

he’s not going where he got the best chance to play, he’s going to where he’ll get the longest/highest contract.

If it was that west coast would give him a bigger contract than the bulldogs

Most players wont announce til the real stuff starts on monday.

Robertson is and would remain a straight-up list clogger at the Doggies.

Seems weird to me that he wouldn’t make a struggling team his priority.

Still a list clogger imo anyway.

His rep is living of a Larke Medal and not what he has shown at AFL level.

Clark similar for us but has a bit more of a flickering light of potentially success than Robertson IMO.

Living of a Larke Medal.

Clark will probably be the same.
I agree on Clark. Showed glimpses in 2 finals but well overdue. I think we all like the idea of him developing into something substantial but I just can't see that he has enough tricks in the bag. For a top 10 pick I just can't see what separates him from a large group of players in the AFL.

Elite runner - appears not
Elite endurance - appears not
Elite skills - appears not

I know we all like to protect our own and hope they turn into the next topline mid but I just can't see it. Heading into his 4th year in the system next year and right now I think he's borderline best 22 if we recruit Worpel and get Bruhn back. That doesn't say a lot about where he's at after 3 years.

I think losing cam Guthrie has hurt us more than people realise. Ontop of losing joel end 22

The academies need to go.

Draft picks are becoming heavily redundant and devalued due to how heavily watered down they are.

Its no coincidence sides are now dismissing picks and wanting players partly due to this
Won't happen the AFL want these northern states to be successful.

WE Did bid on Gulden but swans matched that straight away.

We did well on the father sons .

Not that well - really the only bargain we got was Tom Hawkins. And that was almost 20 years ago, the stakes are higher and the professionalism is greater.

FWIW, I'm not against Father-Sons, or the NGA, just need to have a fair system for allocation. Points dont work, the system gets rorted and teams who have nothing to do with the trade get shafted. Should be that you sacrifice a pick reasonably close to the selection. If you cant do it, then tough. That way poor performing teams will still get their NGA and/or father sons whilst good teams will really have to do some genuine sacrifice to select such a topline player
