Clayton Oliver. What did Melbourne pay for Steele?
I don't see the big deal with running a Blicavs/SDK or Blicavs/Neale ruck set up at times next year. I don't want to see us overplay Stanley. 10 games maybe. No chance with the major foot injury. Mid year at best. Tbh I expect to see sdk playing a fair bit of ruck next year.
Such a frustrating period.Reads like clubs weren't keen to trade with us regardless this trade period.
I wanted Marshall as well but we offered as much as we could. A first was enough and we offered a second as well.Curnow nominated us.
Marshall nominated us.
Disappointing that we couldn’t land either.
Brisbane, Gold Coast, and GWS all nailed the trade period - they’ll be very hard to beat next year.
We’ve improved slightly with Worpel and Bruhn, but the lack of a quality ruckman still hurts.

I reckon Carlton were dirty on him and were never going to help him get to his first choice destination
And this is better than our proposed trade, how?
Is this actually confirmed from the club?No chance with the major foot injury. Mid year at best. Tbh I expect to see sdk playing a fair bit of ruck next year.

Felt like clubs didn’t want to make us better.Reads like clubs weren't keen to trade with us regardless this trade period.
He will be on the injury list (TBC) until the final round.. although I hope and pray that he will be back. I think Edward’s is the best option going forward for us..Question... Is Conway injury, will he be ready by round 1
On a serious question. Does anyone know of the best ruckman playing State League this year?
I do not “like” this post but I agree with it.Everyone needs to get over Conway.. he is made of cellophane. If he makes it off the injury list, fantastic, treat it as a bonus but I reckon he’s cooked
Big if. Hasn’t strung together more than a handful of games thus far. This gives Conway a lifeline if his body finally plays ball.
I'm interested in this new narrative of Blicavs being "battered" in 2025. He moved as well as he has in years, had some of his best ever ruckman games and played 25 times.
I guess some people have a different definition of battered to me.
I actually reckon they’d have done that deal to anybody else except Hawthorn. And honestly, I can respect that.On another note Essendon might actually be even dumber then St Kilda.
What exactly is Merrett going to do for you? You are so far away from anything even resembling a finals team let alone a flag.
Holding on to an aging want away player is just mad.
He is 30 and will play no part in any future flag tilts. You got offered 2 firsts and an early second, ****ing obscene overs and you knocked it back.
Are clubs just completely delusional to where their list actually is?
If we take it as true that our offer was 3 first rounders for just Curnow (with nothing coming back the other way) as was reported, then it is a shocking deal. As has been said here though, it smells of clubs simply saying "we wont deal with Geelong". Carlton couldve gotten 3 firsts from us for Curnow and kept everything else they have now sent to Sydney. I cant fathom how that is a better deal for them than what we offered.
It is a big deal as the club wanted Marshall as well as the above but Mackie couldn’t get him without paying an over the top price.I don't see the big deal with running a Blicavs/SDK or Blicavs/Neale ruck set up at times next year. I don't want to see us overplay Stanley. 10 games maybe.

This is the only conclusion. Once they said they weren’t trading him unless we offered something ridiculous - which was never happening - that was the end of it. They were simply never serious about trading him.Listening to Ross Lyon and his plans for 2 rucks (which i disagree with) i dont think they were trading him even if we offered the future 1st so that makes me happier. We did all we could do.

I have a dark sense of humour. There is nothing funny about watching a St Kilda supporter having a mental breakdown on our board.
How much does Molier weigh......?
And this is better than our proposed trade, how?
Do you actually know what finals are?lol Geelong fans are so unintelligent.
You cope by trying to claim there is no way De Koning and Marshall can work together.
Geelong were just thrashed in the Grand Final by a team playing Fort and McInerney together, two slow non-athletic types.
Then you tried to field a 34 year old Stanley and 34 year old Blicavs against them and they both got smashed.
You are now stuck with the same two ruckmen next year as 35 year olds. YIKES.
And now you're silly enough to believe you're in for Butters. LOL. Butters is off to the Doggies, everyone knows it. Your mob are still critically dependent on 36 year old Dangerfield, who single handedly won 4 big games last year. No Dangerfield, no Grand Final, probably not even finals.
