The time has come to play some new tallent.:D

We have some great young players coming thru... Now we
should be backing them to play to get the experience needed.

I think Brock O'Brian would be a good choice for Midfield/Defence.
We built this city on Brock & Roll.
Can someone please give this guy a chance.... A star waiting to shine!!

Anyone else you guys would like to see play AFL level??

Brock would do well to get a kick for Peel.

Wrong!!! He has been going ok lately and if we don't give blokes like this a go now... then when?? Next year we will be going for the flag so they
will be less likely to get a go.... Unless regular players are injured.
Then we send them in with little to no experience.

Use the time to our advantage now when we only have next year to focus on.... and what a year it will be..... Go Dockers!!!!

I do like the look of him, but he quite simply has not shown enough.

He'll probably get a couple of pre-season gigs next year to show his stuff. Why rush him into it?

This is true.
I just want to see a few of the boys get the chance over the next few weeks. No point in holding back.... look at what the young sides of '06/07' are doing this year and how dangerous they look next year.
I just think its time to push a few of them:)

Schammer
Foster
Duffield
Ibbotson
Dunn
O'Brien (with an 'e')

Based on current form I think that's the pecking order for midfield spots. With only 2 games left i can't imagine we'll see Brock before the year is out.

What about Browne and Drum?
They have to earn it before they can play regardless of the situation

We have been. The last few years we have played about 4 blokes to debut each year. Having said that, we make sure their WAFL form warrants it.

.. and this matter concerns a slime fan..... ?

How is that relevent? He makes a valid point as backed up by following Dockers posts

Brock barely touched it in the second half last week, and considering how much time the ball spent in Peel's defensive half that is a worry.

If I was putting the list in order for selection this week and if everyone was fit I'd have O'Brien ahead of Mourish, but behind the other 39 players on the senior list.

I never claimed I could spell…. :D

That is a shame:(

He has not shown the best form last week but we all have off weeks from time to time.
He goes hard at the ball and it would be interesting to see him (and a few of the other boys) perform at AFL level.

Drum is being played more as a forward, so i didn't include him. Browne I just forgot about.

Either way you've just added 2 more guys to the list who have better WAFL form than Brock, making it even less likely he will play this year.

OUT: - In
M.Carr(injured) - Foster
Macca(old) - Ibbotson
Cook(old) - Mourish
Black(injured) - Dunn
Thornton(useless) - Drum
J.Carr(rest) - Browne
Farmer(injured) - Collard
Haselby(rest) - Obrien
Bell(rest) - Schammer
Pavlich(rest) - Dodd
Tarrent(rest) - Webster
Solomon(rest) - Headland

Lets give them a go for the last 2 round and rest some of aging players, some of the injured players and some of the experience players

This is probably a stupid question.. but why would you have people "resting" with two games left in the season?

I agree on your Thornton assessment though.

To give these young kids a go, just in case our stars(top gun)players get injured.

OUT: - In
M.Carr(injured) - Foster - Agree
Macca(old) - Ibbotson - In what may be Macca's last game at subi?
Cook(old) - Mourish - Last game at subi, wont happen.
Black(injured) - Dunn - Agree
Thornton(useless) - Drum - Disagree
J.Carr(rest) - Browne - Disagree
Farmer(injured) - Collard - Agree
Haselby(rest) - Obrien - Disagree
Bell(rest) - Schammer - In what may be Bell's last game at subi?
Pavlich(rest) - Dodd - Disagree
Tarrant(rest) - Webster - Disagree
Solomon(rest) - Headland - Pretty sure Headland is still injured

For argument sake i've agreed with the guys you have named as injured but if they are 100% i'd play them.

How is disrupting the entire make up of the team and getting pumped by 100 points good for the development of these young guys? Those who have the WAFL performances to back it up will probably play in the next 2 games, the rest will just have to wait until the pre-season to show what they've got.

At last (some vision).... I think i agree with everything you have written here. Experience... even if only a little would have to be better than nothing. Time to give the boys a crack at it.:thumbsu:
Go Freo!!!!

What can the Reg players do for the team with only 2 games to go??
Who's to say they won't get pumped by 50pts as it is??
Get some seniors to show the young blokes the ropes.... can't hurt at this point of the season....
WAFL is just not the same level of football and no-one can tell me different. Some players will benifit by playing AFL level... even if it is only to show them what they have to aim for.

What do you think it will do to the mentality and application of the young kids knowing they get their debut and a crack at the big time without the results to base it on? Surely this is the biggest reward of mediocrity?

If you want to give them a taste, our method has been successful where after some excellent WAFL form, we give the kid a taste for 1 to 3 games to show the huge gulf between dominating WAFL and AFL. It also let's them know that it's going to take superb performances in the WAFL to get opportunities

Excellent.... what do you guage that on??
And since when has our method worked??
Port is just as new and have a flag.... they are not scared to give young blokes a run.
Just an idea?? Nothing to loose at this point....

I'm a West Coast supporter

How do you guage WAFL form? Surely it's pretty obvious to coaches and even supporters when a bloke is playing extrodinary?

Do Port play kids who are clearly not ready or capable of playing at the level?

I doubt you'll find many, if any, teams that do

Mourish can't crack a game for East Fremantle, it would be embarrassing if a guy who is mediocre at WAFL reserves level was selected to play AFL footy.

O'Brien has shown little at WAFL level.

Webster offers bugger all.

Collard can't get a kick.

Why would we rest players when they get 6 weeks off in less than a fortnight?

As this is a Dockers board do I need to state the obvious to you? You must be a Freagle right...? Or you wouldnt have taken exception to my post. You don't even list your team pfffffffffftttt:o

so being a fan of an opposition side makes his opinion invalid? Some Dockers fans followed with the same opinions...are they invalid too?

Freagle?

I am 100% an Eagles fan. However, given im a Perth resident and don't feel any hatred towards the Dockers and I do see many of their games, I do take an interest in them.

As for listing a team, who cares? I don't hide that im an Eagles fan, most people here know im an Eagles fan. I don't see how it's relevent
