What is Hurley's contract status out of interest? Obviously he had the initial 2 year contract, but I seem to recall us locking him in for longer?

i will do what dick pratt did at carlton and have my company pay hurley extra to stay at essendon. I love the kid he will be a star. My worry is he hasnt been at the club long enough to be loyal yet and i believe he is the kind of guy who would chase money which i find sad:(

I find it sad because this is a guy who can fastrack us to a flag and he is a 19 year old superstar id hate if he let.

But i belive he will chase money because hes 19 more money looks good at a young age and he will get alot more oppurtunities at the gc early than he will at the bombers while they get special treatment.

But in saying all that i just sent hurley a message begging him to stay:thumbsu:

Sorry but you have in no pointed out why Hurley is the type to chase money other then saying because he is 19. Unless you know him personally then leave stupid comments like that out.



I'm not worried at all. Hurley is our future, I know it, you all know it, the club knows it and he knows it. :thumbsu:
 
I have a family friend inside the club and i caught up with him today and he said that Hurleys manager is going to have a meeting with the GoldCoast coz they are quite keen on him, but he isnt very keen on playing up there. He also is definetly going to get the number 18.

no way. Essendon know what they have. We have cap room, so money will be no object.

You don't let guys like Hurley go. And, given it's been confirmed he doesn't want to, let's put this one to bed.

His manager wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't meet GC. But Hurls wants to stay in his home state, & prove himself at Essendon.

As has been said, though, I imagine the club would do all that was within their power to keep him. Lucky we have that 'long term list management strategy' in place (e.g. not taking Ball, I presume) to financially deal with situations such as these.
