Well for the first time in a dozen years it looks like a name other than Ricciuto, McLeod, Goodwin or Hart might adorn the top of the leaderboard on club champion night. We really have been lucky to have had 4 such great players (plus Tyson) playing in the same period, but it will be great to see somebody new take the jacket home. So who's it going to be? Bock? Thommo?? Dogga??? Goody may possibly still be a chance. Or could this be the year that Tyson wins a much deserved B&F?

It's been a much more even year than in the past - there is noone that is an obvious clear favourite.

I think Tys would be ahead of goodie.

But I'd have to say it's Bockie who is the front runner right now.

Porps wouldn't have been too far behind, but I'd suggest he'll miss out as he won't poll votes in the next few weeks.

Dogga definately top 5.

Actually I think our POTY threads are a good indication. Probably will come very close to that list.

I'd be happy to see either Bock or Thommo win it. Two of my personal faves.

I forgot all about Needles :o Not that I think he's a chance of winning it, but I'm ashamed that his name didn't even cross my mind considering he's one of my other favourite players.

Bock pretty comfortably for mine although Thommo did have a ridiculously purple patch.

Dogga to round out the top 3 with Edwards and Porplyzia rounding out the 5.

Definitely between Thommo and Bock, I'd lean towards Bock at the moment, however, Tyson as always will be up there, will this be the year, will he finally get his Cigar? Others up there would be Porplyzia, Burton (Until his knee goes) and Doughty.

Other awards, rising star goes to Vince, best 1st or 2nd year player (Bickley award) goes to Tippet, BTM probably Dogga, any others?

Goodwin has no chance at all. Definitely between Thommo and Bock, with Edwards an outside chance.
You've decided the winner then have you? Who knows how the brains trust will cast their votes. At this stage I think it will be Bock or Thommo but Goody has had a pretty reasonable year and there's still time for anybody who's around the mark to make a late charge.

My guess would be Bock :thumbsu: Has had his best year at the Club and has probably been our most consistent player.

Would be so happy if he won :)

cant belive no one has said shirley! craig loves guys that can do jobs and hes beating the best of them week in week out including judd and ablett! i got on him at 140 to one to win it at atart of season with provate book maker! now he is 15 to one with the same book maker! coachers love taggers look at baker winning that year at saints when the yhad stars everywhere! look out its shirleys year

I actually think Goodwin has had a pretty average year (by his standards). We all know this is due to injuries, but I don't think he'll get bonus marks for being injured!

I'd say Bocky has it - Thompson's mid-season form will see him in good stead, but Bock played fantastically in those games too. Has Bock played a poor game at all this year?

One poor game, that was round 1. Apart from that he has been brilliant. He is my pick too. Should be an All Australian.

He was struggling in the 1st part of the season but has certainly come back with a resurgence interspersed with a couple of flat spots but i cant see him making top 10 unless lots of our players miss games thru injury.

Scott Thompson for his hard work plus Bock are the 2 standouts for mine.

I would say Bock or Thompson!

Bocky has probably been more consistnent and has been in our best players just about week in week out. He is integral part of our defence and his rebound from there would be seen as a major plus by the coaching staff so I would say Bock, followed by Thompson and Dogga would definetly be in the top 5 IMHO! Porps would have been close but injuries will see that he doesn't win it. But it doesn't mean that he won't win one or few by the time he hangs up his boots.

Its been a good year from that perspective. It hasn't been the old guard that has led the way.

I was quite surprised to find out that he's averaging over 21 touches and 5 marks a game; now obviously possessions alone aren't the be all and end all, but if you'd asked me how much footy he'd been getting prior to looking it up, I would have guessed at around 12-15 touches per game. Combined with his average of 1.6 goals per game he has actually been pretty good, although definitely not at the lofty standard of years gone by.

Burton is a guy I forgot about who will poll well up until the round he did his kneee. Was having one of his best seasons at the club.
