Will thoroughly miss it. I don't go out of my way to watch whatever other people have to say about games, but if there's a local production on Aussie TV then I will always tune in. Even enjoying the re-runs that are currently found at random hours on one of the ABC channels. Don't understand the 'derp it doesnt work in current year' argument, but ultimately I guess the cancellation came down more to the hosts high tailing it than the audience numbers.

What's not to understand? Just as print media is becoming harder to do, so does television. Especially on a subject catering to people who are somewhat tech savvy.

I don't understand the need to just ****ing bolt out at the gates and find out instantly what other people are thinking at the earliest possible convenience. Good Game was a quality show made by people talented at their job. It was infinitely more informative and reasoned than watching some guy sitting at his desk do a play through for 3 hours.

Used to watch pretty regularly, hardly at all last year when my first little fella came along. Still, was a show about videogames on FTA TV, will be missed.

100% their right to pursue new opportunities, but seems a bit odd and a bit rough to jump networks a few weeks from production. You would think ABC already had ideas to cull it in the next 12 months anyway.

Hex and Nichboy don't control when an offer comes along. Read her facebook post (quoted below), entirely reasonable explanation IMO.

Done well to go this long with the prevalence of online coverage. Never going to compete with Gamespot/GiantBomb et al

Yep. 10 years! Thats an amazing run for any TV show, let alone one that is competing with the online growth in content seen in videogames the last few years. Its not even Gamespot/Giantbomb and the other big boys - these days every bloke and his dog runs a youtube channel out of their basement with 200,000+ subscribers.

You've just described exactly what games (and movies) discussion is on the internet now. I don't really feel the need to do it either but rest assured we are in the minority.

According to news.com.au, Stephanie Bendixsen wanted to move to a commercial network before she became "too old" (this is a bit misleading, to be honest).

Yeah that news.com article is definitely pushing an angle, stick to her facebook post. Good and reasonable response to the flak she's been copping.

Was moreso referring to actual games journalism as opposed to hobbyists on YouTube. YouTube is mostly full of fake personalities that will gush over literally everything.

So Good Game Spawn Point has been renamed Good Game. Goose and a new girl have joined Bajo and Darren.

It's just a shame that they won't be reviewing mature or R rated games on this show.

. .

Going on a tangent, but apparently not if the IMDB forums have shut down.
