Majestic myself has a much better ranking than DWD, wait he doesn't have a team.
Majestic > Jolldo![]()

My random question is how often is that question asked?

You said Majestic is better than DWD. I was just quoting you.
I think you'll find that last point is about as convincing as the rest of your arguments.![]()
Why is it that every time there is a new poster on this board they have to be accused of being DWD?
If he's posting something of substance then why should it matter if DWD has gone and made another account? Does it need to be highlighted?
From what i've seen Majestic is far more mature than DWD which was really his only problem. If Majestic is DWD then good on him, he's considerably improved his posting. This should be encouraged as it makes for a better board. If Majestic isn't DWD then you're accusing him of something he's not.
Either way give Majestic a chance because to my knowledge he/she has done nothing wrong.![]()
Fair enough but that's not really my point.
I understand that and understand that he's been given dozens of chances in the past but surely if Majestic is posting well and not annoying anyone then there is no need to bring this rubbish up.
Weird, just tried IE as well and that also does not work. Since I am anti Mac and Safari reminds me of Mac I don't have it so I cant test that.Maybe it could be people using Firefox? That's the only thing I can think of.
All I know is i'm using Safari and it's working fine.![]()

Short answer, no, I don't believe you can do this in FFGenie, however you can do it.whats the quickest way to work out someones break even for next week if predicting there score for this week. is there a way to do it in Genie.
eg. simpson has a break even of 131, say i predict him to score 90 this week against the saints.. how can i work out his break even for next week.
thanks
I think you can calculate breakeven directly (without goal seek) as follows:Short answer, no, I don't believe you can do this in FFGenie, however you can do it.
Price movements are calculated by: (75% of current price) + (25% of market value), where market value = average over last 3 rounds multiplied by the magic number. The magic number changes on a weekly basis, but you can find the current figure used in FFGenie by right clicking and selecting "edit multiplier", currently it's 4079.
If you are reasonably skilled at using Excel spreadsheets, you should be able to set up some simple formulas which will allow you to calculate new prices based on any scores you choose, then you just use the "Goal seek" function to find the new breakeven. When Goal seek is activated it will ask you which cell you want to set (the new price), what value to set it to (current price), and which cell to change to achieve this (the most recent score).
So...for Kade Simpson, you can use FFGenie to predict a price fall of $14,500 if he were to score 90 this week, bringing his current price to $437,400. Using the above method his new breakeven would be around 121.
I'll see if I can set up a simple spreadsheet to demonstrate, as it is not easy to describe, and I fear my explanation may be a little confusing.
I think you can calculate breakeven directly (without goal seek) as follows:
BE = (3 x Current Price / Magic Number) - s1 - s2
where s1 and s2 are scores in the past two rounds
The problem with this is that the magic number changes week to week. Tooserious is the only way to get a price prediction with an accurate estimation of the magic numberI think you can calculate breakeven directly (without goal seek) as follows:
BE = (3 x Current Price / Magic Number) - s1 - s2
where s1 and s2 are scores in the past two rounds
This isn't about moderation this is about leadership.
Tarquin as you are the mod you command respect.
You can give the thumbs up when posters are giving good advice and you can tell people to do better when they are trolling.
It's about keeping the discussions at a high standard.
Sitting back using mod powers is the easy part of moderation.
Would you like a treat for a job well done?
This board is at the point where that is no longer required. If someone posts an excellent post and no one quotes and it says "great job" it doesn't mean its a great post. This board is not about recognition but instead sharing your ideas for all to benefit.
I personally like the fact that Mod's don't need to do this, and quite honestly the board is actually running incredibly smoothly. Now we have someone random make up the teams thread each week, the team discussion thread, the round score thread etc etc. I can't remember a time when it has run this smoothly. I really don't understand what your complaining about? Believe me, things could be a lot worse here

You've jumped ship...
I do admit that I'm not the best poster here but I do like to contribute.
When Tarquin accepted the mod job he did so in good faith and well knowing it was an unpaid position.
To come in and whinge about doing it for free is very poor form.
I moderate an internet forum somewhere and I can tell you it's not for the faint of heart that don't want to put the work in.
I think hanging around and being online is a big part of a moderation role.
You need to encourage posters when they are doing the right things and scold them when they are doing the wrong thing, set a good example and build relationships so they can see who their mods are and how they are working to make the place better.

It would be interesting to see what score last years winner was on this time last year and who was in front and what they were averaging. Is there a database somewhere?
