Sheldrick really struggled to run out the game. Maybe that's why he's been sub

Hard to run on the bench!

Fitness isn’t the issue. He’s just still not in Cox’s “best inside mix”.

Disappointing that he ended up with only 60% ToG after a very, very good first half.

But still, we won & he had a game that surely makes it hard to drop him.

Lookie lookie who convincingly won the ruck battle

As a team we were also +9 clearances and +3 Centre clearances

I’ve been critical of our clearance work this past 12 months but tonight is a promising sign.

You have 300% Midfield time in theory right across 3 mids

Heeney Chad Rowbottom Sheldrick Mills

All get 50-55% midfield time and then you would have 20-30% time for others

Yep if you have Heeney Chad Mills Gulden Rowbottom Sheldrick Adams Jmac etc etc thinking of the inside and outside there's a lot of options

Thought we would win if we dominated 2/4 quarters, turns out we only needed 1

Im glad Cox has found a winning formula from the 2nd half against essendon

It means we get Gus in the mids and he’ll get better from here but he’s probably making way for Mills if JMac is rubbed out

Liked Campbells game, was constantly bouncing around the packs getting involved. I still feel at times he could be a bit more selfish and go for goal. Had the chance to checkside but tried to centre the ball and almost got pinned in Q4. Only 15 touches but really high impact.

Old whipping boys Amartey and Wicks outstanding.. rampe good, mccartin good.
Thought corey was pretty good I thought..particularly early when we were getting hammered. I know others thought he was terrible.
Maybe new whipping boys might turn it around.

At some stage he needs to do more than bounce around though, Heeney and Warner have to combine for like 70 while campbell gets 15

Great last quarter, we still got our issues that persist but one of them was better tonight(tackling). Helped by Gus starting, he was huge in the first half, ran out of juice a bit after HT, but that happens after being sub every game.

Goal kicking still a major issue.

Amartey and Jmac gonna be annoying losses next week for being stupid.

OUT: Amartey, Jmac, Francis
IN: McLean, Adams, Hanily/Mills

McLean didn't earn a reprieve but things fell his way with the outs.

I'd drop Lloyd and probably Corey if we had reinforcements, but assuming Jmac, Amartey and Francis miss.

FB: Wicks Tmac Rampe
HB: Blakey Hamling Florent
C: Chad Jordon Bice
HF: Campbell Buller Corey
FF: Cleary Heeney Hayward
R: Grundy Rowy Sheldrick
Int: Ladhams Adams Lloyd Roberts
Sub: Hanily

Blakey to the forward line if he regresses from his 4th quarter. Heeney obviously plays some midfield but Adams in to help him stay forward more. Bice another option to swing forward a bit.

I think he needs to be managed but can contribute.

Roberts belongs but yeah current form is a worry

Roberts possession count is actually up to 24.8 from 18.3 with his kick to handball ratio about the same. His clangers count has gone up to 3.7 from 1.7 and his kick efficiency dropped to 73.1% from 84.9%.

Don’t think he is close to being dropped just teams are putting more pressure into him especially when he is kicking. He is working through it and taking on more of the ball rather than sticking to his normal role.

Yep thought he was better today than some of his past games but not outstanding

We don't have luxury of dropping him anyway , and you can't drop a guy getting that much ball.

But I don't think the stats tell the story , I mean you did also leave out he is top 5 for turnovers in the league.

I think we just need to get him moving it quicker and with purpose , but I also can't see on TV what's ahead of him, maybe that's the issue
