GOTY: Rioli or Mcphee (to date)

yeah i voted for mcphee and i barrack for essendon, whether that's bias or not (and i believe its not) really is debatable.
but i'm not the one who posted a poll asking for people's honest opinions, only to skew the presentation to suit my opinion.
anyway, enjoy.

Rioli's goal was flashy no doubt, but it's been seen before and will be seen again, and every time Leon Davis does the same thing, all the commentators call it the goal of the year too.

McPhee's was truly exceptional........you won't see a goal like that every year!

Mcphee's was unique, from an extremely difficult angle, falling backwards.

Rioli's was a damn good goal, but it's nothing that we havn't seen before, and the angle wasn't as intense.

I actually think Rioli was trying to centre the ball to his teammate in the goal square and got a lucky bounce. No doubt a great goal but a bit lucky in my opinion.

McPhee you can see had the ball perfectly angled onto his boot for the checkside goal. He meant to do what he did. Was still lucky it went through as 9/10 would probably miss. To me this was the better goal. And he was under just as much pressure as Rioli when he kicked it.

you see over a dozen rioli type goals a year, granted it was about as good as they get.

McPhee's was unique it left me in shock along with the silent crowd, thats a goal i will remember.

Mcphees was better for me and easily as well.

i still can't believe Lloyd got GOTY last year ahead of Motlop and Yze's banana's from 45m from the wrong pocket for a banana

this year so far Mcphee easily...players snapping and dribbling goals through from the boundary is a regualr occurance these days

i know that toyota goal of the year is voted round by round,
and therefore percentages can only be compared to the greatness of the other 2 candidates, but...

Rioli got 75% for round 6

and

mcphee got 57% for round 5

so there!

McPhee's was easily better, but Rioli is easily already a better player. Sad but true.
