Did someone fall off one of the stands at the 'G going back a few years or am I going insane?

Someone asked me that yesterday, so unless some weird form of mass hysteria (other than GF fever) has hit, it might well have happened. I can't remember anything specific, but that's not unusual ... ;)

Pred, I have some understanding of how you feel because I couldn't get to Wales for Birmingham City's Playoff Final in 02 which is a bit of a similar situation to yours. Rest assured though I will scream my lungs out twice as hard on Saturday on behalf of you and every other Port fan overseas this weekend. You wont be there but trust me, you'll have no shortage of people there giving them a shout for you.
Thanks for the understanding Ray - you're a legend :)

I reckon I might even hear you from where I am. By the way you better scream extra loud if you are gonna make up for me, because I make a hell of a lot of noise when I barrack.

Flying over tomorrow night (thursday). Sitting (like most) behind the goals at the punt rd end.

Jabsy, what's going on mate??? Surely you can work something out!!

Likewise, I wish I was there when Barnsley flogged Birmingham at St Andrews in the Playoffs ;)

Oh how the times have changed Ray.

All the Qs are up around the top of the Great Southern Stand and last year's redeveloped section. Q1 is behind the southern goals, Q21 is on the western wing. I'm in Q21 row K, so if you end up there, we should arrange to meet!

Looks like I will be in Q21 row F seat 12 or 13. Which seat are you in?

gbear, it's actually Oxford Scholar. (A good name for a pub. Google it if you don't know the reference.)

I've got to work until noon on Saturday, then drive the 40k to the MCG and pray for a parking space somewhere. Oi.

Ticket bonus for Power, Lions
September 23, 2004

GRAND FINAL combatants Port Adelaide and the Brisbane Lions have received an extra 2200 tickets to sell to their members following an unprecedented move by the AFL.

The league has supplied the extra tickets after a large number of AFL members opted not to take up their option for seats on Saturday.

The participating clubs in this year's decider have received 20,000 tickets between them for the clash at the MCG which has a capacity of 80,000 due to redevelopment.

AFL general manager of commercial operations Gillon McLachlan said the demand from AFL members fluctuated from year to year and had dropped this season.

The lack of interest is largely due to the absence of a Victorian team in the premiership decider.

Lions chief executive Michael Bowers welcomed the extra tickets but said Brisbane would ask the AFL to review the allocation process after some club members initially missed out on tickets.

"We will be asking the AFL to seriously reconsider their allocation of tickets to all interest groups after this," said Bowers.

Both clubs received 1100 tickets each, some of which are for standing room only.
