Sports Tonight were reporting that they could have kept him and stayed under the cap, but he was released on 'compassionate' grounds instead. Does anyone believe that, or is it simply poor journalism? Blooding a replacement for Locky is their next priority

Corey Norman is basically a clone of Lockyer, he is a fullback or 5/8th, who is being groomed as Lockyer's replacement. I am more concerned with the outside backs (wingers) and also the hooker who is an absolute spud.

They could've kept him and stayed under the cap, but it would've meant probably no player signings and a shedload of cuts. Much easier to stay under the cap by releasing him.

I'm not too worried about the loss of White. Think we can cover him easier than Inglis. Saying that, GI had to go probably for us to realistically be competitive in the next few years. Sad to see him go, im sure he didn't take the decision lightly given he has pretty much grown up with the Storm and made his name at this club.

Only way Inglis returns is if one of the other 3 leave or the cap gets a serious bump (If we get a fair TV deal)

The Broncos know this more than any team I'd say.

They have lost 4 rep players at the height of their careers, all of them to other codes ... Sailor, Tuquiri, Hunt and Folau. Two have returned to league for other clubs. Only Folau was poached from another club.

They got nothing for them, just had to suck it up and move on.

Good. Would rather only have him for 2 seasons anyway. I'd rather keep Gillett, Hoffman, etc than retain Inglis. Value for money.

Best two signings my club has made was appointing Bellamy and then reappointing Bellamy. We will be strong while he is there. Expect us to make finals next year.
