I spent a couple of hours in the sun yesterday afternoon putting together a new BBQ. Went to fire it up, connected the old gas bottle and it was empty.
Not ******* happy!
Get to christen it shortly with some fine porterhouse.

I bought a small Z&B electric BBQ on clearance and found it was a lot better than my gas BBQ for convenience and cooked equally aw well. I gave the gas one away in the end. I may upgrade to a Weber pulse 2000 at some stage and give the Z&B to my mum. She's got a Weber Q but even though they are good, gas is totally inconvenient for her.

Mine went to the kerb side recycling facility years ago. It was good, I will admit that. But I don't get overly excited about BBQs to be honest.

I got the Weber Spirit II 310. It’s a big upgrade over my Baby Q which served me well for almost ten years.
I just need to learn to drive the bugger it’s a lot hotter.
Got it brand new, it had never been unpacked from marketplace for a steal.

So CBA ring today on a private number wanting personal details.

I said

I’m not giving you anything. Send an email or message me via the App.

Sure enough an email comes through. I have to go to the bank and prove who I am.

I can do certified copies. More time wasted and mail them in.

Or go into a branch

Which then asks my final question…why do they still close at 4pm?

I like to tell them that I know who I am, but for them to give up what they know about me, as if they’re a bank, they should know. But they won’t divulge as that’s personal information…. I say, me too!

No, no, no. Banks and all other corporates are obligated by law to inform you that of the private information they hold regarding you and your identity.

And it strikes me as a very unusual situation that any bank would call seeking information regarding a customer's identity. Asking for them to follow up with an email is not sufficient to be confident that the request has come from a legitimate source as it is no more able to be confirmed by you (Gasometer ) than the phone call.

Do go to a branch in person, and ensure that you ask why they need more information than what you have already provided. They are obligated to identify customers for several reasons (traceability for anti-money laundering for instance). The 100 point check covers that.
