PS3 version runs at 640p with no AA

360 verison runs 720p with 2xAA

Props to the PS3 programmers running with some good upscaling work despite this technical disadvantage.

I was playing for 5 hours last night and am already through 10% of the game...is anyone else concerned here? I want it to last forever!

50 hours is a lot of gameplay for a console game. Not to mention the time you'll get out of multiplayer.

Consider the fact you can knock off your average console shooter in less than 12 hours. Stacks up pretty well. If you spent 5 hours on COD4 you'd be 2/3rds finished

I am not sure I like the driving camera yet how it is off center.
And the cars handling is extremely frustrating, but I guess I will get used to them.

True but when you smash it to the point of explosion it is all worth it & you have time to run away & watch.

Also love when you head on with another car or wall & go flying through the windscreen.

But if you are in a big 4WD then the other car driver will go flying at impact not you.

There is no army or tanks, I think it is more tactical defence, you will have to watch out when you get higher stars, if you enter a Pay'N'Spray you need to do it while the cops can't see you, this means completley out of sight, and once you get to about 3 stars the helicopters follow you everywhere and alert the cops too.

That sounds like a frigging disaster. 1000s of calls from PS3 owners. This poor bugger lost his console.

'I can't access the local (Australian) forums for some reason but here is my recent (yesterday) PS3 + GTA4 experience.

After playing for 1 hr when I got the game at the midnight launch I went to bed and was up to start playing the next day. Played for 5 minutes before a freeze occured during a cutscene. Could not shut down using any method except for holding the soft power key down after about 1 min the system restarted. After restart the game played the loading screen for about 2 mins before freezing also! Restart again and CD icon never showed up and I noticed the little circle animating constantly (for a few minutes). Ejected the game, tried COD4, tried a BD move, tried a normal DVD, NOTHING worked.

Tried GT5 Prologue off the hard drive and it worked fine. Called SONY support and went through resetting defaults, power cycle etc. etc. with NO JOY. Within about another 1hr it was on its way back for repair which is 4 weeks. So my experience with my fairly new PS3 and GTA4 has been sad to say the least considering it seems by BD has just died.

I have checked around a it seems a lot of people say this is a known issue and not uncommon but sony say it is very uncommon. Well of 3 people I know who have PS3s 2 of us have had this problem now. Considering the game froze 1st and then froze up again shortly after restarting before the BD died I am a little concerned as to why this all happened after gettng the game.'

Multi on XBL is just awesome. I thought I was hooked on the single player, but the multi has got me addicted.

Deathmatch is carnage - you want near and 1 sec respawn, have played with 12+ people, no probs.

Mafiya work is awesome, cut throat stuff, I'm sure there will be tons of tactics for team version of this mode. Cops and crooks too.

Being able to invite friends from Niko's phone in game is a revelation.

All that is the same on the PS3's PSN as well BTW.

Reports surfacing that the game crashes on the 60GB version of PS3, 20GB and possibly also some 360's too.

Anyone experienced it here?

I have noticed 2 times today it freezes for about 2 seconds then gets back to playing the game, nothing last night, and so far nothing severe.

If anything happens then I guarantee Sony will get a blasting.

I'm glad then, sick of the goddamn military, the Pay N Spray seems a bummer though, at least it's infinitely more realistic.

OK, now your lying, you loved Condemned 2, yet this game shits all over it, wipes of that shit and then shits all over it again, and it DIDN'T take your breath away, what did you just drive around in circles the whole time, go and look at the city, see whats in it, take a trip in a helicopter, play ONLINE for once, then you might actually start to see how ____ING GOOD THIS GAME IS!
