Re: Barlow suffers setback

Strange that of all the different websites running footy stories ONLY Hackdorn comes up with this particular Krap. The fact he uses words like "understood" "it is believed" indicates he really has no story and is simply relaying a rumour from an unreliable source.
No mention on the AFL sight, No mention on Fox, nothing in the Herald Sun.

Kind of like when Hackdorn wrote an article saying "it was believed" that Jack Anthony was going to Carlton  . I cant believe that he gets away with making up all these stories.

In fairness, those outlets aren't going to be saying much about Freo this time of year anyway (well AFL would, but usually it will be later than earlier).

But, in any case, can we confirm this is BS? I know coming from Hackdorn we can assume this until proven otherwise - he really is a tool, a poor man's Hutchy and that's saying something - but is it official BS?

Re: Barlow suffers setback

Pretty sure this line

The 2010 first-year sensation is due to have a 30cm metal rod running down the inside of his lower leg removed later this month.

is incorrect. You wouldn't have a rod like that removed so quickly. Maybe Chops or someone can confirm. Voss played out an entire season with a rod in his leg.

Re: Barlow suffers setback

I had a 30cm rod in my leg some time ago, but I busted my femur.
It was inside the bone and was removed about 4-5 years after the break.
I had about another 6 or so weeks unable to do much, although as i said it was my femur.

I cant imagine a 30cm rod inside a leg for the lower part of the leg, it seems wierd to me, and it seems crazy talk that it woud be removed so quickly. hope its all good.

Re: Barlow suffers setback

I'll try and clarify tomorrow.

However, given the past record of this piece of fly blown dog excrement...

That website is filtered...as they tried to spam the site.
Given the quality of journalists on there, it's a good thing

Have clarified:

The story is complete crap.

Hagdorn is making shit up.

You pool of dog vomit.

The orignal photo on the story had Barlow's head photoshopped onto the body of a Sydney player too.

Re: Barlow suffers setback

I've read a few of Hagdorn's articles and the sources are often tenuous or non-existent, so i'm not worried just yet ... but then I don't think many of us expected Micky to get up for Round 1 anyway.

Re: Barlow suffers setback

I assume sports news first means something along the lines of - make as much randomly believable crap up as possible and hope something is correct eventually so we have a leg to stand on.
Eventually they will look like geniuses cos something has to be right sooner or later.

Its hard to say without knowing all the details but it is my understanding that they can just leave them in unless they are causing any issues. They certainly would not be taking it out at this time unless there was a good reason, especially if there were healing issues (as per the article).

The callus (healling bone) should make that site as starong and possibly evening stonger than before. I doubt they would have him doing the running volume (as reported) if he had a delayed union or non-union. Bones do need stress to heal but it sound like he has been doing more than just a shuffle.

The emotive terminology used in the article is crap and does not seem consistant with other reports to-date.

I think the W.A Carlton Blues raised money for the Blues to have one of these for their rehab. All reports say that they're amazing machines and help with the recovery process immensely, they cost a fortune.

I hope he gets up and running early, was an amazing story in 2010.
