Hi all.
The SFA Hall of Fame was established in season 13 with 6 inaugural inductees. When the Hall of Fame was created, it was decided that the SFA would induct 2 players per season. Later, it was decided that some players would become "immortals" within the Hall of Fame at a ratio no greater than 1:5. The Hall of Fame recognises a mixture of both playing, posting and services to the league (ta, okey copy and paste).
We've had a fairly big chat in the committee and around the league as to what precisely gets a player into the HOF and it's been with great deliberation over the course of the season that we have selected this season to induct one player only but at the same time, we had compelling reasons to upgrade one of our current famers into a Sweet FA Immortal.

We have had a lot of nominations to go through over the last few weeks but one thing the committee couldn't agree on was the necessity for two inductees this season. However, there was a fairly unanimous call for one in particular. Hence, we would like to congratulate the following for his induction into an elite group of posters and players from Sweet FA history (and a fairly obvious reason as to why I'm posting this thread.
Season 19 Inductee - okeydoke7
The outgoing admin gets a massive send off back into league obscurity by being named the newest HOF inductee. Top four in all time goals, league admin for seasons 18-20, four time All-SFA, seven time leading club goal kicker and one time Alf Andrews medallist, okey has also made his name as one of the premier media specialists in the history of the league. When nominating okey, the esteemed Eth said this about his friend and adversary: "Arguably the best, most consistent media performer in Qooty history. Brief hiatus in S14 aside a superb contributor all round and a great custodian of the game. Perhaps there's some recency bias but I'm all ears if you can find a bigger contributor to the league with more games played not already in the hall of fame". Nicely put by no ears.

And with that, it's time to announce the newest Immortal player, the new legend of legends.
Season 19 Immortal Inductee - Fred
Fred is the glue that keeps the league together. The old timer has played more games of Qooty then the entire lists of some teams. Overall Fred has played in 353 premiership season matches (Team Timmy, The Mod Squad, Roys FFC), 34 State of Origin matches (Victoria, Victoria Country) and one All-Star match (Mobbenfuhrer's Maurauders) for a total of 388 SFA affiliated games. He's also nearing (or just passed, I'm lazy at looking for stats) 450 career goals. He's also fronted up for the all-SFA three times. Fred has also acted behind the scenes as moderator for many moons and was an absolute unanimous decision as the new league Immortal, joining Mobbenfuhrer and boncer34 as the elite of elite.
Congratulations Fred, the season 19 Immortal.
Let's all give these two our congratulations and celebrate their achievements within the Sweet FA.

I expect they'll want to do an MRI this side of Xmas. Thanks for the kind words (flattery = brownie points) from TFW and yourself. It doesn't seem that long but 20 seasons says it is. I don't expect another 20 but taken one at a time, who knows.
