Most deserved win by Ewings who is already a considerable talent of the women's game.
That game against Sydney was a highlight of the year (one of the very few) especially Hannah and Dowrick's 50 metre + bombs in the 3rd quarter.

Abbey was fantastic the first 5 or 6 games then ran out of steam near the end.

What was the talk about Ella Roberts in WA during the year TK. She was considered the best player in the draft, won WA's MVP at the U/18 champs, was named at CHF in the All Oz team after the nationals, and as she nominated for WA zone, WCE took her with their first pick, 12 I think, the first pick by any of the established sides. She got 15 votes and finished 4th. Probably typical KPF slower development than mids.

Montana Hamm from Vic Metro was named in the centre of All Oz team, won Vic metro's MVP, was considered the second best player in the draft, the best mid fielder, and Sydney obviously offered her something, think it was study related, to nominate for NSW zone and was taken pick 1 by Sydney. Played 7 games, did well against Port but didn't have much help that day. Its the only game I saw her play.

Lauren Young is who we have to draft with our first pick next year. I assume like this year we can draft players who are 17 but turn 18 before 31st of December.

She turns 18 in mid September 2023. She won the equivalent of the Magarey medal in the SANFLW before her 16th birthday last year, made the covid restricted U/19 carnival All Oz team before her 16th birthday, but ruptured her ACL in November last year and has had the last 12 months off rehabbing.

If she nominates the SA draft, we will have the first pick of SA talent. Not sure if we will have extra picks over the crows like this year's draft.

Her grandparents live across the road from us. Her Dad Geoff was a cracking footballer for Roopena.
Beautiful hard working family. My heart bursts with pride to see Hannah start her career like this. She"ll wear the number 1 mark my words.
