8 years ago (i'm 22 now) i was at school and was punched in the shoulder by some dude. I felt a crack and my shoulder hurt for a few weeks. He got me right on the edge of the shoulder (i think on the collar bone) and its been angled slightly down ever since. I forgot about it for years cos it hasn't hurt but now the pain is catching up with me. Would it be possible to hva esomething done like a reconstruction or metal pins/plate put it to help stabilize it?

BAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAH

You wont need a shoulder reconstruction because you got punched - that is the softest thing I have ever heard in my life. Maybe you could get some Voltaren pain relief cream to ease what is most likely arthritic. This tickled my funny bone - shoulder reconstruction from a punch!

I think i need to have my finger amputated because i got a paper cut a few years back and the other day i looked and there was a scab - might be gangrenous if im not careful! :D

Oh and welcome to BigFooty :p

Gee thanks for your help rave slave. I can feel the bones aren't aligning and there is no stability compared with the other shoulder thats why i thought pins or a plate may help.

I've had one (skiing accident) and I think it's best you see a doctor or grow some balls before thinking about a reconstruction for a punch on the arm. Hilarious.

Left shoulder been done twice. Serves me right for my careless tackling during club rugby matches.

sounds like it's getting a bit arthritic, certainly doesnt sound like it warrants a shoulder reconstruction though. A doctor will probably just tell you to take some panadol for the pain, or if it's quite bad they'll give you some steroidal-type drugs to ease inflammation.

Ok maybe not a reconstruction but what about putting a stabilising device in like pins or a plate to stop it from moving where it's not supposed to?

Don't reply if you're just gonna laugh

I'm due for one soon :(
THEN my hips..
Then my knees... etc. etc. etc.
All my joints dislocate for no reason - but particularly when i'm sleeping - only when I wake up does it feel like a b*tch...

I apparently have far too much collagen in my body apparently...
Went to see an orthopedic surgeon, and was literally just twisting my joints going 'Doesn't that hurt??? ' - I wasn't paying him to be fascinated

Bollocks, given the timeframe, i'd say it is arthritic, but they'll probably just as Dr Nick said, prescribe something steriod-related and suggest some sort of physio to build up the strength in the area... *shrug*

Good luck with whatever treatment you end up getting. Bung shoulders are possibly one of the more irritating injuries to have, always leads to other problems as well. I am currently building up a bit around the shoulders so by the time the footy season comes along I won't have to take Nurofens like they are smarties after every game just to get to sleep!
