Would you like to spend way too much effort extolling an incorrect position to strangers

  • Why yes that sounds lovely

  • No thank you but you are very polite

  • Hang on I'm unsure if 'extolling' is correct in that context

Yep, even people my own age (late 30s) are doing this now. They remember our gen a lot differently, apparently we always played outside every day until the street lights came on. They forget we were the first Nintendo generation of course.

Everyone says that small kids only wanna play on their ipads all day, but this isn't true, as I said in the other thread I am surrounded on both sides by young kids who are constantly playing ball games in their backyard. In fact it'd be a blessing if they'd **** off and play on their ipad once in a while.

So much this.

They only stay inside and play games?

Everywhere I go I’m surrounded by the little ****ers

You should take their ball off them and start a thread about it.

Cyclists should not be allowed on any road that has a speed limit greater than 50 kmh.

Maybe in the cities I can see some merit (and isn't it already the case you can't ride on freeways?) but in regional and rural areas it means you cant ride a bike anywhere. Ridiculous idea given most roads that are over 50km/h are in these areas.

Who cares about rural areas, i am refering to city / metropolitan roads.
Why inconvenience everybody by reducing speed limits to make roads safer for cyclists?
Just ban them from all arterial roads ie: the ones without reduced speed limits.

As someone who rides a bit I wouldn't have a problem with this, provided there is a viable alternative for commuter cyclists such as a dedicated cycle path or alternate route on said 50km/h roads.

the problem I have found with cycle lanes are that cyclists like to ride on the actual line - not say in the middle. drives me nuts
and I like cyclists!

Yep, we don't help ourselves as cyclists by doing things like that. Our sense of entitlement on the road, (both motorists and cyclists) continues to baffle me. A little bit of courtesy and patience would solve most problems between bikes and cars.

I cycle almost every day to and from work and I generally agree, within metro limits.
I'm amazed at the cyclists who use Wurrundjeri Way. 70km zone with no emergency lane at peak time, creates problems.

Depends if there are parked cars - you only need to be doored once to always be wary.
TBH I find most drivers ok - in the CBD it's pedestrians you have to worry about, especially mombies.
