He was such a scrubber, couldn't stand him when he played for the Hawks and his attitude when he got dropped and Richmond drafted him was pretty piss-poor.

Sad to see this kind of thing as it really underlines the fact that we're not going to have the pleasure of watching Mitch and Hodgey playing for that much longer.![]()

Must have had some good mates at high positions at the club.
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that didn't think the sun was located squarely in his balloon knot.
Crazy to think that in our entire history we have only ever had 6 players reach 300+. Im hopeful that both Mitchell and Hodge can both join that club. 39 games left for Mitch and 50 for Hodgey which is 2 and 3 seasons respectively. Both of those guys are still at the tops of their games. You would think that even if they taper off a bit in 2015 they would both still have legs to play in 2016 and 2017 for Hodge. Of the other players currently in the squad Lewis (217games at 28y 157d), Birchall (194games at 26y 243d) and Roughy (207games at 27y 248d) look good for 300.
Surely that's a typo. In the 1920s and 30s, there were 3 weeks of finals played. Assuming Coventry played finals in each of the 18 seasons he played, he would have played a max of 54 VFL finals.M Tuck has the record for number of finals played, 39 and Premierships, 7. D Brereton has the record for total goals, 53. Hawks have 5 players in the top 10 of the all time VFL/AFL list (includes G Coventry at No.1 with 111 finals).
G Coventry kicked 111 goals in finals, I can see how you thought it was games, sorry poorly written in hindsight. BTW J Dunstall tops our list with 78 goals from 21 finals with L Matthews with 72 goals from 29 finals 2nd on the list.Surely that's a typo. In the 1920s and 30s, there were 3 weeks of finals played. Does anyone have the ability/capacity/desire to put together a list of hawthorn premiership players?
(I know being the most successful club in the land means this will be a lengthy list - so even if it's capped at dual-flag players...)
I'm keen to see where our current crop of blokes (in particular the 6 that have nabbed 3) sit amongst those legendary names of our golden era..
Thanks in advance to anyone who can be arsed.

Platten is a 4 time premiership playerFrom a friend who thrives on this stuff, the right hand Legend represents number flags, scroll to the bottom for summary.
Well spotted and I also see 2 other small errors which I'll advise my friend for correction.
He was basically a tall wingman/HBF who was asked to play full back and played some decent footy despite his size disadvantage. As you said, he gave his all for the club.Geez I thought Graham worked his butt off and was often asked to play on far bigger opponents.
Reasonably sure this is complete, but I might have missed some.
