See you next year Chris? ... Tarrant could be a teammate of Carlton's Heath Scotland next year
A few points.

Look he's probably right in the fact we are going to lose Tarrant, I think I'm already resigned to the fact it's going to happen.
If we can get a pick around the 20-30 mark for him then I'd be extremely happy. Add to that there is going to be a bidding war for him and hey we may even get a first rounder.
For those supporters saying they wouldn't give up a first rounder for a 28 year old injury prone backman..... You would give up more than that to have a quality backman like Tarrant. I think Hawthorn would give an arm and a leg for him. Add Tarrant to the hawks backline and they will be extremely dangerous next year.
Tarrant for Hawks first round pick. (They'll have the pick for C.Brown to use instead, if he goes to GC like he is supposed to)

Given Tarrants age no club is going to give up an up and coming player so I reckon a straight trade for Chance Bateman would be an excellent swap for both clubs.
Firstly, I don't rate Tarrant as a man or a person. He shows all the signs of bloke you wouldn't want to go to war with. He would desert you in a heart beat.
Now he's gone the club I wouldn't mind seeing him go to is Hawthorn. I hate Collingwood (I'm no orphan) and Carlton have just poached too many good footballers from WA for my liking in the last few years, namely Judd and Warnock.
Given Tarrants age no club is going to give up an up and coming player so I reckon a straight trade for Chance Bateman would be an excellent swap for both clubs. Bateman is around the same age I think and Hawthorn have an abundance of midfielders. They have struggled since losing Trent Croad in the 2008 GF so Tarrant will give them a ready made replacement and they are still premeirship material with a player like Tarrant in their line up.
We would need to find a replacement for Tarrant but Bateman's experience and harder body would be ideal over the next few years while our younger lighter framed midfielders continue to grow and develop.
Thoughts?
I'd take Muston for Tarrant, not sure if he is out of contract or not though. Seems to impress every time I see him play, has a massive kick on him and a good strong mark. Also did some very handy tagging on the premier running half backs of the competition this year, (Kept Gilbert/Shaw/Enright), all very quiet.
Only played 5 games this year to take his tally to 13 over 6 seasons and not sure that he's entirely what we need.
Others would be better for us IMO i.e. Ladson, Morton and perhaps Dowler or Moss.
What about Lewis?
What about Lewis?
If my theory and your theory collided we would have passed on him for a midfielder????
